Don’t Feed Those Birds
OCEAN CITY — Feed a seagull here and it might cost you $500, and that doesn’t include the cost of the snack. City council adopted an ordinance Jan. 11 setting that amount as the fine for those who feed wildlife on public property that includes the boardwalk and beaches. The winged critters here shouldn’t feel singled out by the city, since every community in the area has been passing new storm-water runoff laws at the behest of the state and prohibitions on feeding wildlife are just one aspect of these comprehensive new rules.
