satan HATES the Jews because Jesus came from among them. he has always tried to destroy them but God has always preserved a remnant. Anti-semitism isn't new, as you know. Pretty much the case. American Christianity has gotten so comfortable with their lattes, the plush theater seats(with cup holders) & having all their felt needs met they are ill prepared for the storm that's coming. Self esteem & complacency do not prepare one for battle.

And of course you're right. I was merely responding to Rabbi Lapin's putting the responsibility on chr*stians when Jews are the Chosen People (and that carries a great responsibility which no other people have). Of course it is G-d Who is in control of all things.

What I can see is the steady erosion of freedom and the passage of laws that will compel good police and prosecutors to sadly shake their heads enforcing something that they don't agree with but feel compelled to comply with out of duty and honor.

Although one verse has been omitted, the lyrics of "Onward, Christian Soldiers" have not been altered. However, PC has slipped into the hymnal. "Good Christian Men Rejoice" is now "Good Christian Friends Rejoice." "This Is My Father's World has also been altered. The lines that originally read,

This is my Father’s world: the battle is not done:
Jesus Who died shall be satisfied, And earth and Heav’n be one.

have been replaced with

This is my Father’s world, why should my heart be sad?
The lord is King—let the heavens ring. God reigns—let the earth be glad.

I assume the reference to a battle is at odds with our church leadership's pacifict bent.

Perhaps the greatest PC travesty in our hymnal is that "God of Our Fathers" has been renamed "God of the Ages." The words to this song, which has come to be known as the National Hymn, were originally written in 1876 to honor America's centenniel. They were originaly set to the tune "Bozhe Tsarya Khrani" (God protect the Czar), the Russian national anthem. In 1888, a new tune was written for the hymn, to honor the centenniel of the US Constitution. However, our church's liberal leadershp pparently considers "God of Our Fathers" to be sexist.

Speaking of fathers, another popular hymn, Eternal Father, Strong to Save is missing from our hymnal. You will also be out of luck if you're looking for the third verse of the "Battle Hymn of the Republic":

I have seen his message written in the burnished rows of steel:
"As ye deal with my contemners, so with you my grace will deas.
Let the hero, born of woman, crush the serpent with his heel,"
As God is marching on.

The dirty little secret of Christianity is that most dedicated Christians are cowards when it comes to public controversy. They seem to want what the anti-Christians want for them: To keep it all within four walls. That way lies death.

Strongly disagree. Christians aren't cowards. Unfortunately, many take the command to "be not of this world" to mean they should withdraw and simply take care their own. It's not my viewpoint, but it's not based on cowardice.

They have become a bunch of pacifists and man haters, I think. The feminists are taking over. One reason why I left my dear church and am going to a non-denominational one. Sigh. I loved the old hymns the way the CHURCH FATHERS intended them to read. Grrr.
