Cool picture. I get to work at 5AM and wander up to the roof of my place and saw meteors only for 2 seconds max. They burn bright white and are very fast. Always going south/southeast. Just about this time of year also. The first time I saw that it was hazy and the light just lit everything up. Very bright. NW L.A. County. My work buddy said that those are just aliens that want some work done on the cheap.

(Am I correct in assuming that the "synchrones" mentioned are the undulations in the tail that I attributed to variations in the solar wind?)
And I also wonder if the color of the ion tail might be a spectral indication or the comet's composition...
