Denny didn't recall. O.K. Whatever! Hopefully by '08 we'll fix most of the corruption and ineptness that has run rampant in the GOP for the past few years.
If not we can spread our legs, bend forward and kiss our butts goodbye in '08 as well.

Mister Foley must work towards making HOMosexuality illegal in the lower 48. Only then will he be forgiven. And chemical sterilization.

How unreasonable was it for the Reps to believe telling the Dems would lead to politicizing the issue, when the Committee report shows that's exactly what did happen?
To: no dems
"Some may have been concerned that raising the issue too aggressively might have risked exposing Rep. Foley's homosexuality.... There is some evidence that political considerations played a role in decisions that were made by persons in both parties."
Disgusting if true. He was preying on young teens who were in vulernable positions. They should have dicisplined him the moment allegations began surfacing in 95.

what about the RATS who knew about it and didn't say anything intil right before ehe election? They're the ones responsible. When the GOP leaders found out about it they put a stop to it. But they get blamed for it by stupid voters. Unbelievable.

Apparently the bureaucrat in charge of the page program is himself a homosexual?

What nobody seems to be talking about here is that the Dems say homosexuality is all right. So why the fuss? Oh....I just remembered. Now it's wrong because it was a Republican.

Well I'm sure NABLA and the ACLU will come along and make everything all right.
To: balch3
You got that right. And add this thought, the RATS that held back the information were not concerned for the safety of the pages. That is a more hideous crime in my book.

The page program ought to be abolished. Congressmen don't deserve to receive this kind of a benefit.

"If Republicans were criticized for failing to confront Foley more aggressively, Democrats also figured in the investigation.
The committee said that one aide, Matt Miller, had possession of suggestive computer messages written by Foley, and passed them along to reporters as well as a communications aide at the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee."

My friend, you are either extremely naive or willfully in denial. They never put a stop to it. Foley was busted by an ex-page and ran like a scalded dog.
It is now common knowledge that Denny Hastert and other Pubbies DID know what he was up to and did nothing.

PULEEEEEEZE!!! He was hitting on minor boys for God's sake. It was not abominable because he was a Republican or gay; but because he is a pedophile.

Hastert should go down as the icon of the bloated, inept, country club "Republican" Pork Pig wing of the party for his tenure. He even looked the part.
Don't like Harry Reid's land deals? Google "Dennis Hastert land deal". He is no better. I'm sick of bloated slob politician trash masquerading as representative of the people. Throw'em all in jail.

The Democrats and their public relations firms like CNN have literally pretended that Foley was some kind of monster that threatened children. His name is used in fearful tones with constant repetition. But if Foley was Democrat he would still be serving and anyone criticizing would be called a bigot.
Barney Frank is a likely a far more dangerous critter.

It's not like he was running a gay prostitution ring out of his house or anything. Then it would be a big deal.
Oh wait, that really happened.
Well it's not like he was actually having sex with underage pages or anything, was censured and subsequently re-elected a couple of times.
Oh wait, that really happened.
OK then it's not like he was drunk, driving around late at night with a teenage girl, ran his car off a bridge and left her to drown.
Oh wait, that really happened, too.
Never mind...

Overall, the evidence shows that "concerns began to arise about Rep. Foley's interactions with pages or other young male staff members" shortly after he took office in 1995. If the pages were of legal age, what business was it of anyone to do anything?

I suspect the Pubbies were afraid of being called "intolerant" and would have been depicted as anti-gay if they had reprimanded Foley proactively.
