Help the ladder business?
It depends on the wall. A REAL wall would work.
One with patrols and such.

Is there anyone in this government, local, state, or federal who actually wants to STOP the invasion? That is, someone whose not a loose cannon like Tancredo.

The chinese get a lot of money on tourists visiting to see theirs. Maybe Perry can make some money on it.

"The only thing a wall would possibly accomplish is to help the ladder business." Perry decides to emulate Governor Janet from Arizona. If you are parroting Dem speaking points, Perry, it ain't a good thing.

"We just concluded an election year that was very heavy on immigration rhetoric, and, I might add, very light on comprehensive solutions," Perry said. What an ass. No one that I know of was aked, in the voting booth, what they wanted to do about illegals. We are supposed to accept that clowns like this and Huckabee (who says hispanics are willing to give US a second chance to right all of our wrongs vis-a-vis their rights) know what we want or what our will is.
Damn, I am getting to hate ALL politicians.

Nope.
Big business wants the illegals.
Big labor wants the illegals.
Big government wants the illegals.
Big religion wants the illegals.
They'll get what they want.

So I wonder if Sam Houston would agree? My guess is that he'd ask why he and others bothered to fight a war against Mexico, if we're just going to become part of Mexico anyway.

He's right yaknow, the terrain is too rugged and the technology to build a wall on such an excentric landscape has never been developed
snicker!

Which is stupid, because as America becomes like Mexico:
Big business will cease to exist
Big labor will cease to exist
Big government will thrive
Big religion will find itself marginalized

Personally, I think the wall is a good idea.
To: Dubya
"The only thing a wall would possibly accomplish is to help the ladder business." Nonsense, it would also help the tunnel business.

'Virtual Fence' to cost $8 billion(from the article)"The Department of Homeland Security pegs SBInet's costs at $7.6 billion, but the department's own inspector general estimated last month that costs could swell to $30 billion."

Harrumph! Perry is a 38 percenter. He's a lame duck even before he's sworn in. Nobody likes him, boo-hoo.

"The only thing a wall would possibly accomplish is to help the ladder business." Ted Kennedy was quoted as saying the exact same thing not more than one year ago. Lovely.
To: Vaquero
Had Perry said that
before the election, Kinky would be our next governor. As it was, I voted for Perry while holding my nose.
This is the second time in my life I have actually regretted the vote I cast.
The first? Jimmy Carter in '76.
To: Dubya
How much do you suppose it would cost to put machine gun emplacements every 1/4 mile? A good deal less than $8 billion, I'd surmise. I know: how terribly cruel! How uncivilized! Uh-huh. Tell me that after we lose a city or two to WMD's smuggled in by someone posing as Pedro the Lettuce Picker.
