IIRC...the House worked Tue-Thurs...but stayed really LATE at night.

The Senate would work from about noon on Monday (no votes---so no necessity to be there)..to Thurs., with votes...but no late nights. They would be open for half a day on Friday...but no votes...and it is usually a loooooong quorum call.

I support term limits -- if they applied equally to all members. I don't like state by state term limits, because the reps from the more conservativve and reform-minded states would be the only ones affected. The good guys would be at a disadvantage. I also don't like self-imposed term limits, for the same reason.

It's a moot issue for now anyway. The Supreme Court, about 10 years ago, said mandatory term limits for Congress are unconstitutional. They aren't, but that's what SCOTUS said.

If a state GOP is basically non-resistant to the Dems and is simply an alternative team for managing the Democrats' bureaucracy and laws, you're probably right. In that case, the less opportunity to pass new laws, the better. But if there's a real GOP spirit, the legislators need to time to pass good laws (there is such a thing) and repeal or amend bad ones. Also time to investigate the Rats' many abuses and the ill effects of the Rats' laws.
