The visitors have eyes to see. It is their hearts and souls that have grown icy.
Thanks for the good news about Scott!
Frank mildly says that Congress should "pay a little more attention" to the seven governors of the Federal Reserve System, all of whom are confirmed by Congress. The Fed, says Frank less mildly, should not be considered "above democracy": "We can debate whether Terri Schiavo's life should be recognized as over" and other fundamental questions of existence, "but God forbid anybody in elected office should talk about whether or not we need a 25-basis-point increase" in interest rates. "Somehow that's sacrosanct. No, it isn't. It's public policy."
Snip...
Frank may be the biggest liberal in Congress. His thinking is what today's liberalism looks like when organized by a first-class mind. He discerns cultural contradictions of conservatism: Some conservative policies free trade, and tax and other policies that (he thinks) widen income inequalities undermine support for other conservative policies. When capitalism's "creative destruction," intensified by globalization, churns the labor market and deepens the insecurities of millions, conservatives should not be surprised by the collapse of public support for free trade and an immigration policy adequate to the economy's needs.
My opinion George F. Will : Frank favors government role growing

Terri's "Another Day in Paradise": The production piece opens with Terri following her doctor's orders to "open her eyes" - which she does and you hear the overt praise that two doctors both praise her with. Dr. William Hammesfahr - the Nobel Prize nominated brain injury specialist who examined Terri longer than any other doctor, AND Dr. Ron Cranford who testified on behalf of Michael Schiavo - both acknowledge that she is following their instructions and thus proving she is NOT in PVS.

Ive just returned from Gowana Middle School, in New Yorks Shenendehowa School District. I interviewed students who attempted to speak out against abortion, as part of the national day of silent protest organized by Stand True - Christ Centered Pro-life.

Come now, you have to give him a little credit, Barney has made history. It isn't every congressman who has run a homosexual prostitution ring out of his apartment.
I did give momma Barney a little credit. I withheld what I wanted to say! If I even said a little I would be banned from this forum for good reason. Years ago in a far corner of the world I encountered a creature who must have been an identical twin of this piece of fresh doggie doo.
Press accounts by their nature sanitize such behavior, but to see it up close oozing all the evil, is bone chilling. I have no fit words to describe it. Our tender public would be horrified at seeing such behavior, but easily can gloss over it as just another scandal, without a second look.
Hence this blob survives and thrives with little alarm.
Thank you, this is a family forum :-)
I don't read George Will anyway. Life is too short for all that polysyllabic wind. There are plenty of good conservative columnists out there whom one can read without fear of encountering puffery for the likes of Barney Frank.

Can you mention where? If not, would a hint be suitable? Forum rules will be observed :-)

UNDATED Activists on both sides of the issue today will mark the 34th anniversary of the Supreme Court decision that legalized abortion.
The annual March for Life will be held in Washington, D-C. President Bush will call in his support to the anti-abortion rally.
Pro-choice activists will hold a vigil at the Supreme Court and present political leaders with a petition signed by thousands of women who said they had abortions.

CHICAGO, Illinois (AP) -- The power to create "perfect" designer babies looms over the world of prenatal testing.
But what if doctors started doing the opposite?
Creating made-to-order babies with genetic defects would seem to be an ethical minefield, but to some parents with disabilities -- say, deafness or dwarfism -- it just means making babies like them.
Idea of 'designer' babies with defective genes stirs ethics questions

Every single day sickening reports emerge of missing and murdered children-- as sexual assaults by teachers, coaches, strangers, and sometimes by the clergy and family members-- make headlines. But what is more sickening to stomach is the little pat on the wrist many predators are receiving by many judges who are allowing them back out on the streets to stalk and molest their next victim/victims--as if this practice should be accepted or tolerated.
Its ironic that many of our leaders in Washington support allowing underage girls to secretly get abortions, and yet they are far removed from getting involved with protecting students from sexual predators who hide behind a veil-- pretending to have the education of their students as their top priority.

Whom do you pray to, to give thanks for killing babies?
Their father, the father of lies.
I mentioned Manila, a place where I once worked where a clone of Barn held a key post as a mini-tyrant.
I don't like that place one bit. Hang out in the lobby of The Pen and don't wander more than a few blocks, it's safe enough.
Sadists of one stripe or another are attracted to gummint service. I'd be willing to bet that State has more than its share.
I didn't really consider the area dangerous, however was expected by Security to vary my routes to work each day. Kidnappings are very annoying.
I guess I got used to it.
And, yes I had to slip out of the country when nobody was looking to avoid certain elements displeased with me, but that is another story.
