One young man who spoke to two muslims in New York spoke in our end times Bible class yesterday. He says they are waiting for Jesus to come and mobilize all the Muslims and take vengeance on the Jews, Christians and America. They are so deluded. I pray Jesus will make Himself real to them soon. Many people in Iran and Iraq have come to know Him but they're afraid to tell anyone. How sad. There is a reason why islam used to be called the church of the AntiChrist.

Just to play the Devils Advocate, isn't partly the Wests fault that Byzantium fell? After all, one of the Crusades did invade, divided it up, and left them hopelessly weakened in the face of the Muslim threat.
That said, Islam is obsessed with events done 1,000 years ago (perhaps thats because that was the last time they were revelent?) The West barely cares about what happened 15 years ago.

Perhaps the West helped bring about the fall of Byzantium but they did not cause it. That was done by a Muslim Army. So if the Muslims want an apology for the Crusades they can start the ball rolling by apologizing for 15 centuries of rape, murder and torture done in the name of Islam.

Actually, in Huntington's concept, every civilization defines itself in the opposition to others: "THIS is what I am, as opposed to THAT which I am not".
The absence of something doesn't mean that there is something viable left in its place. This is what C.S.Lewis referred to as stepping outside of the "Tao of Humanity."
This is a problem that the radicals pose to Islam as a whole, not that they are violent but that their violence is largely internalized and directed towards other Muslims who want a functioning culture and society. Also, their violence glorifies the onset of human futility by embracing the indoctrination and deaths of their own young.
In comparison to the rest of Islam, the radicals are merely "trousered apes" (to borrow another of Lewis' terms).

I was not the one suggesting that she did not understand the words on the sign she was holding up!"
Rurudyne perhaps
- you are not reading what your nimble fingers are typing, or
- you don't believe what you write, or
- you possess the belief that truth twisting is a worthy goal, or
- you enjoy seeing your words in print so much you feel compelled to play childish games on a conservative website.
In any case, once again, your words are posted below:
Rurudyne wrote: "In all fairness, there is a good chance that both the holder of the sign and the intended reader can understand English. The person in the picture may be ignorant of truth (being deceived by a false prophet), but that doesn't mean she's uneducated or dumb."

Gee, I wasn't aware that Pope Benedict XVI played a role in the Crusades.
To: MaestroLC
Very well put.
I would add that this is the continuation of a war started back in 672 and has continued on to today.

They trashed the Hagia Sophia, the most beautiful church in Christendom and destroyed its priceless mosaics, turning it into a mosque. I've never heard an apology for that.

These idiots might as well blame the serpant, Eve and the apple for all their discontent...not to mention poor old stupid and gullable Adam.

The pope speak german,
The pope lives in italy
The pope is visiting in Turkey
Yet all the signs of the protesters are conveniently in ENGLISH!
(so much for press 1)
Seriously, I bet a few astute cameramen could take some pictures discretly showing how the protests are for show rather than substance.

I didn't know they were but makes some sense to me. I never knew much about Islam until 911, however.
