What brand of turkey did you get?

Haven't ever ventured into syndication. I've always wondered if I could do talk radio. But it's the last format where I can truly be a "listener" (I'm sure you understand why)...Highlight of my career (so far)...getting the call from R&R informing me that we were now a reporting station...and seeing my station and my timeslot #1 in our market. Let while I was on top to come back into Army Broadcasting. :)
When I retire I want to pick up where I left off with doing sports play-by-play...it's my new broadcasting passion. I'm thinking of finding a small college and being their footbll and basketball "voice".

They act like raising the Minimum Wage is some kind of cure all...IMHO it just encourages people to remain in mediocre jobs and not try and look for something better.
All on this thread: We must start to view things as irrationally as they do. They DO have an agenda. Their agenda is to make as many of us, hopefully ALL of us, dependent on the Government. If they can do anything in the next two years to get further down that road, they will have been successful in their minds.
Hell, look how much "political capital" it took for President Bush to just go after Social Security and he didn't even make a dent. Once one of these HUGE New-Deal type dependency programs are legislated, good luck removing them. We need candidates that will PLEDGE to reform our broken systems. Many Americans know they are broken, but Congress won't do anything to really fix them because it is their way of keeping us dependent.

If you have a "voice"thats always half the battle in radio.Sports talk is always a good bet, easy to sell, sometimes hard to get an audience.
I basically got out a few years ago after a three year gig as morning drive host.I did three hours a day, no call-in all live spots with the sponsors, on a remote and then went to work at my regular jog. I got burnt out after three years and had to give one up.
I still miss it and do part time gigs but don't anticipate going back any time soon.

Excellent post, every word true. I believe our country will be stuck with the Social Security ponzi scheme until my generation (the boomers) passes away. By then the number of retirees will be so large, and the tax burden for younger workers so staggering, that the younger generations will, I hope, rebel and force the politicians to phase it out.

More likely you will start collecting Socha Security when you are 75Which will make the program even more discriminatory toward black Americans than it is already.

But the problem is that you have people in my generation who agree with the liberal boomers....We've got a long road ahead before Social Security is phased out.

What's so disturbing is what some people are thinking and what they think is funny. I remember Stern getting into all kinds of trouble one time too for saying something so hateful. Can't remember now what it was all about.

LOL..that was the last thing I heard Newt say. CLICK
Funny how Florida, Mississippi, Alabama, Texas all managed to resuce their people Only in New Orleans did the people die. Somehow blaming Bush is the in thing to do????????
Newt is too much inside the beltway. Praising her heinous, blech. Blaming President Bush for Katrina, more blech.
Bashing Rumsfeld....double blech.

But the problem is that you have people in my generation who agree with the liberal boomers....We've got a long road ahead before Social Security is phased out.Maybe I'm delusional, but it seems to me that the program will become less appealing as the taxes to support it greatly increase and the payout, starting at a much higher age, greatly decreases. "Soshsecurity" is popular now because many people see it as getting a lot for a little. I think that perception will change in the future, but my generation will have to pass away first. There are too many of us for the politicians to ignore.

Heard Robert Reichchchchc.....on with Larry Kudlow, his very good friend, declare that most of the people earning minimum wage are heads of household and they only earn $10,000 per year.

You're more than half right! One show - a very long time ago - Rush said that Snerdley asked the questions he wanted to ask himself - that Snerdley is a skit or gimmick he uses. Sometimes, it can be the folks in the booth as well...
To: Jo Nuvark
But after some Googling - I may be wrong...

The amount can be figured on a calculator, but the fact that only heads of household earn it is figured through stupidity.
