If your attempt by calling me "newbie" was to make me feel inadequate, you failed miserably and it was a lame attempt from your side. I am an old user who stopped posting in the past 5-6 years while serving our nation! Upon my return home one of the first things I did was signed up for a new account as a FReeper...Years of membership does not give one value or wisdom but her/his words and behavior...thus far, all I have read coming from you when you didn't like one's reply were weak attempts to insult and denigration. I have replied to you respectfully, even tried to kid with you to no avail, you continue with the same hedgehog attitude. As far as you trying to figure out my previous user name all I can say to you is "Cherchez la femme", I am having more fun seeing the many changes which have brought either success or fall of many old users.

No skin off my back, I am not angry as she is nor am I vengeful. I believe in friendly debates and healthy dialogs, as long as one does not retort to improper language and behavior. Thus far her behavior has not been that awful where I found it deemed to ignore her. I do understand her outrage but she also needs to understand that not everyone might agree with her. We are all here because we have common interests, believes and purposes. We are more alike than we are not so I do consider paulat as my sister-in-arms against the Democrats. Anything else can be worked out!

Looks like harmless fun. It was stupid to videotape and even more stupid to release the public.

If I were their CO, I'd tell them "Knock it Off - thats 'yellow-light' behavior".

That kind of 'fun' has the potential to get out of hand - though nothing I saw was overtly over-the-line. Again, tell them to Knock it off, and perhaps find them some busiwork for a while to get them doing something else.

It's mighty damn generous of you to permit me to decide what the hell I do in my own world.

Todays troops don't serve in your or my military though, so they must adjust to the conditions in their own world. You never served with women but they do. They have Mothers, sisters, wives and daughters same as you and I, but many of their fellow troops are also females, and they must trust those Ladies to carry their share of the load, and as a rule those Ladies wouldn't have it any other way.

The only thing about this that is stirring all the anguish and hysteria is that the one being taped to the post is a female soldier. Such rites cement the comradery of each individual into a all for one and one for all unit. Treating her different from other members of her unit, weaken the bond that ties them all together.

Having spent thirty years in Special Forces as you say you have, and other than the fact that this particular troop is a female, you know that every damn thing I have said is true.

Glad we were in a secure classified facility with no possibility of cameras or an MSM making mountains out of molehills.

New folks (men and women) were ductaped to their console as an initiation.

I have completely lost faith in FReeper men tonight. Would they want to see their patriotic daughters treated this way???

Well I'm a FReeper female Army vet. They were having fun. They didn't hurt her in any way -- she was laughing the entire time. You may not understand if you've never been in the military, but things like this build morale and unit cohesion. There also seems to be high level of trust. From watching the video, she trusts these guys completely. She knows they won't hurt her or take advantage in any way. She probably also knows they would protect her with their life if need be.

Try unclenching your butt cheeks a little...you won't be so uncomfortable sitting at home in your nice cushy chair while criticizing those in harm's way who take a little time to have some fun.
