"Valley of the Wolves; Iraq" is the anti US military film made in Turkey that I referred to earlier. Don't know anyone who's watched it, but odds are good something like Hersh describes is in the movie, or another similar movie.

We do the same sort of thing to the Turks every now and then ~ and who can forget from "Lawrence of Arabia" that the Turkish officer corps is made up of homosexuals, or in "Midnight Express" that Turkish prisons are brutal beyond imagination.

War is about VIOLENCE! We should use our capabilities as violently as necessary to overcome our enemies and end the war as soon as possible. If we are not willing to do so, we should not go to war. Why don't liberals understand this?

A couple of weeks ago over 80 Suni'ies were found dead after being severely tortured (most likely by Shiite police).

Hersch is not being fired upon or suffering IEDs. He is compfortable is his mansion.

Hersch should be tried for TREASON!

He sounds like an apostle of Soros/Chompsky.

More probably of Yuri Andropov, Chairman of the KGB, '67 to '82 and General Secretary of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union from later in '82 to early '84, when he died in office.

“In Vietnam, our soldiers came back and they were reviled as baby killers, in shame and humiliation,” he said.

Go ahead, Seymour. Show us how.

The rest of us will watch. Some may eat popcorn.

Didn't Nazi troops massacre millions of Jews, Poles and Russian civilians?

Didn't Stalin's troops rape nearly every German female they could find in 1945?

Didn't Pol Pot's army kill a couple of million civilians?

If U.S. troops are the worst they must be doing a super job of covering up their atrocities because it's all happening right under the noses of the MSM who would trumpet the slightest indignity inflicted on any terrorist anywhere.

Sy Hersh is a complete and total buffoon. Oh how I wish just once these moralizing sunshine patriots would be right smack dab in the middle of a firefight and find out just what he would do to live.

Like Woodward he is a one hit wonder whose credentials are stamped paid in full by the entire MSM. He is full of himself and full of $hIt!!

As for the rest - this clown is something of a living fossil. Most of his comrades have passed on to lesser and worse things. His ramblings are on a par with listening to recordings on the old 78's grandma used to play on the wind-up Victrola. They are quaint but rather scratchy and filled with meaningless static.

Ya, kind of reminds me of Pat Buchanan.

I like Gen. Pershing. He's the man.

I question the 42 years no muslim extremist attacks though. The 1930's were rife with terrorism in the muslim world/French colonies. Guess I have 40 years of history to read through to back that up.

Sy Hersh on the otherhand is a useless idiot.

“There has never been an American army as violent and murderous as the one in Iraq”

Spread the word. We'll be done there sooner

I guess this BEM (Booger Eating Moron) has never heard of the US Army Air Force. I wonder if he ever heard of the cities of Tokyo or Dresden?

Or maybe he believes that the #1 job of the military should be rounding up bunny rabits and painting walls.

Mr Hirsch, you are the epitome of the term "Useful Idiot." You're giving encouragement, aid, and comfort to an enemy that would put you up against a wall the first chance they got, and slowly saw your head off. All the while laughing and thanking you for the help you gave them.

Mark

Since his 1969 exposé of the My Lai massacre in Vietnam, which is widely believed to have helped turn American public opinion against the Vietnam War, he has broken news about the secret U.S. bombing of Cambodia, covert C.I.A. attempts to overthrow Chilean president Salvador Allende, and, more recently, the first details about American soldiers abusing prisoners at Abu Ghraib prison in Iraq.

Amazing how no one ever had the good sense to pop six into him.

“In Vietnam, our soldiers came back and they were reviled as baby killers, in shame and humiliation,” he said.
He's proud of that too, even though those who came back and
never committed a criminal act were tarred with the same slanderous brush.

It's only too bad we didn't hang a few reporters during that war.

Where do we find another Black Jack Pershing?

Try the same place the first one was once found. The Pershing Military and Naval Science building, University of Nebraska, Lincoln. Home of AFROTC det. 465, NROTC Battalion "Blackshirts of National Defense", and of course The Army ROTC "Big Red Battalion" and IIRC, national HQ of the Pershing Rifles, founded by Black Jack himself.

(Lincoln also has their civic Auditorium and an elementary school (which many of my friends attended, my wife also attended very briefly) named after Pershing.

UNL can also supply the pigs, from the Ag department. How many you think we'll need?

Yet if a person say Oliver North went there that has the opposite view, they would be attacked on stage.

Considering that Ollie North is a Marine, that might not be a "Good Idea". Not that the Red Hordes might not do it anyway, being "Stuck on Stupid".
