That's pathetic. I have a lot of compassion for Reeve and others like him still living. Sad to see them used by the opportunists.
Thanks for saving me the time of finding that Breck Girl quote. What nobody seems to remember, though, is that Edwards made that outrageous claim on the occasion of Reeve's death.
So, given the circumstances, as outlandish as it may seem, Edwards implied -- inadvertantly? -- that he and John F'in would resurrect Reeve, then cure him. Otherwise, the claim made no sense; no way a dead man is going to walk anywhere.
You have it right. When you're desperate for a cure it is easy to avoid thinking about the negative implications of what you want. A lot of what liberals consider rational is just rationalization.
Exactly!!! I am an MD and I have never seen ANY patient do this. He was swaying back and forth. If this is what he does normally, he definitely doesn't have Parkinsons disease. Huntington's Chorea an make people spastic, but even they don't do this.
He was a good Superman compared to the one they have now. Those Smallville stories are so wussy. They don't show the honor, power and valour of Clark Kent a.k.a. Superman, they disintegrate each story line by showing how Superman can be made powerless, by others, by sex, or by many many variations of kriptonite. Too bad. America needs heroes.
Thank you for that list. Just printed it out and taped it to my neighbor's door. He was over last night talking his stuff about President Bush not allowing stem cell research. I had to explain the difference between adult and embryo.
With his swaying back and forth, he reminded me of Stevie Wonder without his piano.
It's amazing to see how people listen to celebrities. I can't remember the name of the show but Sting was on a late night panel show with about 5 or 6 actors saying that the cure for aids is in the Rain Forest . No evidence at all to back up this claim but he said it anyway.
You know, I think playing the "Pity Me, Attention Wh@re" tactic has jumped the shark. Christopher Reeve may have been the last to get away with it.
Great article, good post!
Good article. I gave it some keywords for better exposure.
You are the MD. I listen to them. Without great SF medics and great MD's I would have died on 27-28 April of 69. I cannot change what bullet wounds did to me nor a grade IV lumbar spine. I am gratefull for all that MD's do to help me live as normal as possible. I am not a victim. I am blessed to be alive. Fox needs to be grateful he is not in Walter Reed with limbs blown off or at Brook Army Hospital in the burn unit.
The MJF ad was simply an explotation ad for the liberals/Democrats.
When Rush Limbaugh says anything, people go after him, but if say a tv show like "South Park" makes fun of anyone, even those who are suffering or dead, as in the case of Steve Irwin, it is passed off as no big deal.
My mother has Parkinson's, and she can barely move along. She has no spastic movements. MJF probably has over-medicated himself, and he should be honest about that. It would make other Parkinson's patients realize they should be careful about not over-medicating themselves.
