Yes, it really does stink. The principles that our legal system is founded on is outstanding, none better, but we have allowed it to become corrupt by not paying attention and keeping these people accountable. Then too, when absolute power corrupts absolutely, their "system" is in place and therein lies the danger, very difficult to root them out. It takes sure 'nough gutsy folks willing to sacrifice a lot, maybe all, to correct it. I'm willing, and others too but it's really difficult manuevering through the maze of powerful judges protecting their turf.

I was able to protect my son in one way by calling the hand of a DA who was going to step down off his ivory tower and lie against my son, perjure himself, this was a divorce case, which are always terrible. Well, I blocked that one but he was still chopped into little pieces. I think the only way I was able to accomplish that much was because the DA didn't know where I was from, what I knew (I was out of my "turf", which was probably best--he couldn't really check me out) but I deflected at least that. My son's attorney was part of the corrupt system, unbeknownst to me, so was worthless.

Not to mention some cops, social workers and prosecutors. I call them "monsters in the system." Not only is it difficult to root them out, it's even more difficult to hold them legally accountable for their illegal and unethical acts...and their friends in the system lie and cover for them.

Doesn't surprise me about the lawyer. There aren't many out there who would be pit-bulls who fight for justice like you and me. Most of them look for the easy way out and it winds up covering up the corruption all the more..and justice is never served.

God bless you and yours for surviving that ordeal. One day there will be a day of reckoning for all of them, God be praised. It is a divine promise that those who hunger and thirst after righteousness will be filled. The lake of fire mentioned in the Book of Revelation is just too good for these people who have cheated everyone to get what they want.

Well you know, thanks so much for that, it's what I hang on to: Scripture, sometimes it's all that we have. You are right on about "monsters in the system", that's what I was alluding to but could not put it as succinctly as you did.

It is the lying and covering up by powerful people's minions doing their bidding that is so destructive. Lots of betrayal and double-minded people, but we go forward, having hopefully learned from these things and become better, or maybe smarter, at fighting this scourge but it's never an overwhelming victory (look at Pres. Bush's victories, for example). It's always a piece here, a piece there but each victory is after all, a victory!
