Did I miss something? Wow, it ticked me off, big time. I thought they reported the news, not made the news!! I thought we were to decide, not Shep Smith!

Awaiting confirmation of the statement before commenting and bashing Shep.

The administration didn't say we'd be out of Iraq in 12-18 months, just that they want the Iraqis to be largely in charge of security by then with our forces playing back up. That's very doable. 75% of the Iraqi's training and preparation to do just that is already largely complete. "Stay the course" never meant not changing tactics. It meant not retreating from Iraq and in none of this do I see any intention to flee Iraq ala the Democrats.

To be honest, I never liked "stay the course." I prefer something akin to "do whatever it takes," which could mean "secure the Kurds and get the hell out if the muslims, Shia and Sunni alike, are simply hell-bent on slaughtering each other wholesale."

Fox is just as much 5th columnist as the other networks. There are a few good conservatives like Hannidy and Cavutto, but mostly they're RATS.

Seems like a bunch of stupid word games and semantics.
The definition of victory has never changed and we wont live until then.
To: W04Man
FWIW, I don't know if it was Shep that I saw last night, but FOX was showing clips of the President using the term.
To: W04Man
I don't know, been on Drudge Report all day that they want to stop using stay the course and move to a more flexible one-liner.

It kind of creeps me out watching Shep
(gay) Smith flirting with Jane Skinner.
She brushes him off with a clearly hetro "as if" attitude.

George W. Bush is one of the great Presidents. His policy re Iraq has been masterful. Shep made a joke. It's funny. Nothing to get het up over.

I guess you didn't watch Shep when he was covering the Israeli/Lebanon war....Shep is an idiot, and I'm being nice.

Shep Smith is a cry baby, and has been since Katrina. He is definitely leaning towards the left talking points. Hope they get this piece of crap off Fox before Fox goes in the tubes like CNN.

There was a news conference in Baghdad,...General Casey and Ambassador Zalmay Khalilzad...that has sparked a flurry of headlines....that make it very difficult to recognize the reporters attended the same news briefing....here is one:
General May Increase U.S. Troop Levels in Baghdad
Doesn't sound like "cut and run" to me...but that report uses timeline....other reports seem not to reference "TIMELINE"....Media Bias at work BIGTIME out of this News Conference...
