Commanders of the French contingent of the United Nations force in Lebanon have warned that they might have to open fire if Israel Air Force warplanes continue their overflights in Lebanon, Defense Minister Amir Peretz told the Knesset Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee on Monday. I really wish that the French would fire at the Israeli Air Force so that we can all get a good laugh at what would then happen to said French commanders and their hapless troops.

Do the French have any clue whatsoever how stupid their threats sound? How hollow?
I don't really have an opinion of the average French soldier. As far as I know, they've never been allowed to show their stuff.
Their leaders are always making threats and boasts before engaging in perfidy before the final cut and run.
