An empty chair would be more aesthetically appealing than a chair with an empty suit in it!

Badda Bing! LOL!

Republicans should be calling for the resignation of Murtha and Harry Reid because of "the appearance of impropriety blatant corruption" in their lives.

There, that's better. ;*)

Vavel Polish horseradish on paper thin roast beef and Polish cheese on fresh Italian bread.

Sounds very good! I'm Polish and have never had 'Polish' cheese.

The imported Polish cheeses they have don't have a lot of "zap" like many German and Italian cheeses I like - I had them pick their strongest - looks like Swiss cheese sliced about 1/16" thick.

The roast beef is domestic - sliced paper thin - no "Boar's Head" brand roast beef there - my preference if not near the German deli - but OK smeared with Vavel horseradish sauce - (a great natural decongestant too)

They must carry 30-50 types of horseradish in jars - a few Russian - but 99.8% imported Polish - some with coarse ground mustard - some with apple - some with honey - some a very hot horseradish variation

They also have an incredible selection of imported and area Polish, Russian, and German breads
I already had fresh Cassone's Italian - so I "faked" it with a Heineken's to wash it down

I missed getting a large container of their wonderful Polish homemade "soup-of-the-day" as I got there quite late - reasonable and they keep a variety in their large coolers

You'd love it -

--

Most of their customers are Polish - a few German - some Russkies too
Labels on products (tinned fish, beef, pork) are in Polish (? for me!) but NO SPANISH TEXT and no problemos on their fresh homeade potato, carrot, seafood, vegetable salad containers with E. Coli

The store is large and looks cleaner than an OR and everyone manages to speak English, smile, and be polite and helpful

BONUS:

All are here legally and PAY ALL THEIR TAXES!

Owner is an design engineer at an area research laboratory and has been an American citizen for over 30 years

"Honest hard-working" fits these people

Huge American flag proudly and properly displayed

I always ask a Polish customer which Polish coldcuts they are getting and why - coldcuts & cheeses on their price lists are in -

Polish!

So I need a little help and advice

LOL, quite a description! I'm surprised they label every thing in Polish still. My Father loved horseradish, he worked in his father's grocery store when young.

They made sourkraut and I'm sure Irey fans are loving this conversation!

Pennsylvania has lots of Polish and German decent families and great delis and restaurants

So the Irey voters will usually know more about than I do -

Texas has lots of German decent but a good Polish deli may be hard to find

Bar-B-Que, good aged steaks, chili, and some seafoods are more "Texas" I'd guess

I live in Johnstown. When I started working for Bethlehem Steel in 1966, about 16000 locals worked in the plant. After they pulled out, a few thousand are now employed by companys that took over those facilities. Minimum wage replaced good paying steel jobs. This area has been depressed since the 1977 flood. Many jobs in steel were lost at that time. I made 11$ an hour in 1980, you can't find that now a quarter of a century later. Murtha has done nothing to help the blue collar worker.

You forgot - lots of good mexican food!

No Polish delis here but about an hour south of me is Panna Maria, the oldest Polish settlement in Texas.

Pope John Paul went there when he visited San Antonio many years ago.
