REP. RANGEL BLASTS CHAVEZ: DON'T ATTACK MY PRESIDENT

This is a crock. Here's the real Rangel (apologies if someone has already posted this:

Top House Democrat Charles Rangel complained on Monday that the Bush administration's decision to concoct a "fraudulent" war in Iraq was as bad as "the Holocaust." "It's the biggest fraud ever committed on the people of this country," Rangel told WWRL Radio's Steve Malzberg and Karen Hunter. "This is just as bad as six million Jews being killed. The whole world knew it and they were quiet about it, because it wasn't their ox that was being gored."

The Harlem Democrat charged that top Bush officials "made up [their] mind to go into Iraq long before 9/11. And every one of the players who made this decision - they were part of this plan to do it. From Rumsfeld to Cheney, Wolfowitz, Bolton, every one of them - Perle - [they were part of the] plan to put our kids in harm's way long before 9/11."

Rangel is only saying this because he knows the PR hit he and his fellow leftists are taking. A dictator that has legislated his now untouchable power standing in front of an audience that applauds/laughs at his cheap shots at our President (and thus our country) that remind one of the similar/outrageous statements by the Dems and lefties themselves, endorses a book by the idol of far-leftists all over the world, and is best buds with Sheehan, Glover and Belafonte. And he does it all on our soil without being arrested or executed as his country, under similar circumstances, would surely do.

Pardon me but anyone here that believes this is a true reflection of Rangel's feelings is a fool.

Rangel has become so arrogant he believes his threat to quit Congress if the Dems lose is going to be a catalyst for change nationwide. Please!

Holy crap, I never thought I'd see the day where I can separate Rep. Rangel's historically odious Congressional speeches and legislation from his words of today.
I've never agreed with him before, and I likely won't tomorrow, but I don't even care if he said what he said for cynical political manipulation, I'm just going to take it at face value.

The old chestnut goes, even a blind squirrel finds an acorn every now and then, and Mr. Rangel's opinion on the UN/Chavez buffoonery strikes me as sincere.
Unlike DUmmies, we on the Right can afford to be magnanimous in congratulating those of whatever political persuasion speak unequivocally in favor of the United States.
I think it would be counter-productive for too much, if any sniping from the Right at those on the Left for excoriating an authoritarian thug like Iran's Monkey-Hitler-AhmadineJihad and his f-tard puppet Hugonito Chavezollini. I myself have wondered for years when or if any Democrat would dare to speak of the United States as almost worthy to scrape at the feet of the Third Reich, ala Sen. Dick Durbin (D-Ill).
It'd be a welcome sign for more 'American' Leftists to follow Rep. Rangel's example; I'm fore-swearing cynicism in the interest of showing to the "world" a united front against sworn and deadly enemies, all tittering at the lavish UN on the American taxpayers' dime, in the city they conspired to bomb...
I still can't believe I'm typing this, but dammit Mr. Rangel, well done!

I myself want to be optimistic on just this one statement by Rangel. I've never agreed with him since 1991, and I won't tomorrow, but I don't see the harm in just congratulating the guy on words well spoken, and on this one issue, accept them at face-value.
What's the harm?
