I think my "interviews" are really starting to aggravate Bruce. His dilemma is that he can't really complain, because I'm just so gosh-darn nice and polite to everyone. But he definitely doesn't want me there.
(How did I learn to keep my cool in these situations, you ask? Well, I was sent to Egypt a couple of months after 9/11, to help coordinate port security for the multi-national Bright Star exercise. I had to work *diplomatically* with Egyptians who said things like "I like Americans, but I hate your government," or "What are you so afraid of, Bin Laden won't attack here, we are Muslim!" or the ever-popular "Osama isn't so bad, you just don't understand him." I managed not to kill anyone -- despite the fact that I was carrying a loaded 9mm Beretta on my hip -- and dealing with people of every stripe after that has been easy by comparison.)
I could tell Bruce was cracking when he gave me the cupcake. That was just bizarre. I think he realized that I wasn't going to react to his obnoxious behavior, so he was trying to redeem himself in the eyes of the newbies, who clearly thought he was being a jerk (as he was).
Their attendance is shrinking, and outside the die-hards, there is not a lot of enthusiasm for keeping this going.
bumpity
There just afraid that you might bring me down there.
BTTT
great job! thanks so much for getting out there and for sharing here...:)
By their flags...
Code Pink is...
Al-Qaeda in drag!
Amelia is going to be mad at you. Mistaking her for Carrie Biggie Beep Beep.
Great report, great job all.
Bruce is the Political Commissar assigned to Code Pink's Kamikaze unit. Some Stalinist traditions die hard.
Up at a counter recruitment protest at 8800 Georgia Ave, where it's OK I guess to hate soldiers because they lie and cheat recruits, Bruce stood with a flag draped coffin on the median, dressed in 60's denim and a paisley headband.
On the megaphone, I announced, "If you're over 60 and wearing a paisley headband, it's not a fashion statement, it's a flashback." He's never been seen in that headband since.
BTW, it's sort of not unexpected that Political Commissar Bruce Wolf is on the union's "Education Committee".
Come the revolution....
It's the need to document "enemies of the people" that all oppressive regimes seem to feel. Hitler, Stalin PolPot, all had extensive records of their crimes against humanity, heavily documented with photos of the victims. I'm sure Bruce has mulled over which wall and how many people should be in your firing squad when they come to power.
The reply above is for SMASH...
Good morning Dr. bttt
I hereby state, that from now on, NO MORE SIDE PICTURES OF ME UNTIL I GET DOWN TO 200LBS! I look like I am 8 months pregnant! It's time for me to cut out the big meals, and limit my pizza consumption to one piece.
A firing squad is an honor reserved for respected enemies. I don't expect they'd waste the bullets on me, I'd probably get a rope.
Amelia(is that how you spell it?) is hysterical...free trade...fair trade...[Well, whatever it is, I'm against it!...she'd make a good Rufus T. Firefly]
And her buddies. I really expect to get a picture of these three in my email, inviting me to join "Liberal Retards Gone Wild" website.
I love the cabbie. I really love the snarky laughter from the pinkos. It was as though they were saying, "You are a dumb Caribbean cabbie. You don't know anything."
Then, DC Resident begins spouting every diatribe he has ever heard, and when he loses his handcar of thought (handcars are hand operated carts that roll on train tracks) he returns to the one thing he can remember..."DC isn't a state."
He starts to talk on: DC needs Democracy, the UN, his father in WW2, Not Race Issue, School, coming from the 48 state, JW grandchildren, One nephew says the pledge, his niece doesn't have a star on the flag, 1966/1956 Alaska, 16 states to ratify...wait, women...wait, Malcolm X...wait, one judge...wait, he is down at the Supreme Court, In God we trust, everybody who lives in DC is not a citizen of DC, then he quotes "Eve of Destruction", democracy, cannot have justice without freedom, 1961 DC got the right to vote, this a real shame, (he is changing faster than I can type), Stars and Stripe, values of (I think Koran), they fight it cause they don't want to hand it down to the next generation, saw VN vets, hasn't changed since the Civil War, Democracy never taught in Iraq and Afghanistan, 100 years ago women didn';t have no rights, 30 years ago teens could vote.
And the countersign will be: "The Pomming begins in five minutes."
It keeps getting better and better !!!
Oh, I agree. The audio is precious.
And the brilliant part is that I didn't incite any of this. I just asked simple questions, listened, and nodded.
It's all there on the audio.
The young gal in the SMASH interview - Amelia - said that her mom is Carrie.
Carrie is the gal who we first nicknamed Floppy Hat Lady, but then her new nickname became Large Marge, after some Freeper started calling her by that name.
Amelia's mother is Large Marge.
