I liked it ok but liked National Treasure more. Who knew there was a treasure map on the back of the Declaration of Independence and the Templar's stash is in a cave below a very famous landmark? Thanks to Hollywood, gazillions now believe this.

I understand that they cut out that scene because it would have given the movie an R rating instead of PG-13....

It's too bad, because the movie could have used a little sex! As it was, Jesus' and Mary's putative descendant barely did more than chastely hold hands with Tom Hanks.

What is interesting about DaVinci's revenue is the split between domestic (29%) and worldwide (71%). American's response to the film was rather tepid considering the best-selling book that preceded it. The rest of the world liked it more than Americans.

Yea, she was a great catch. She was a teacher in Paris 30 years ago and had 27 students in her first class (3rd grade) they were 100% Algerian, 2 could speak french. She knew then France was finished and moved here 10 years later. One of the greatest events I have ever attended is to be at a Citizenship ceremony.

Yes, at a private french school here in San Francisco; 16 kids mostly affluent (she had the French Consulates son in her class last year; we were invited to the Consulate three or four times including the Soccer World Cup Championship)two years ago the daughter of the manager of Channdon Champagne in Napa Valley (their gifts to the teacher were tasty).

Claiming that hooey is 'based on fact' is an old gambut going back to gothic novels like Horace Walpole's 'The Castle of Otranto'. I believe Brown claimed that 'the conspiracies' were based on fact. And there were indeed such conspiracies. They were false then and they're false now.

OK I finally seen the movie, and the only way I would allow my self to see it "if it was FREE" - which it was because I have a three-month gift subscription to Netflix.

My thoughts (laying all the anti-Christian stuff that was in it aside) it was not that great of a movie. It was highly overrated. The wife and I both thought that as for a movie with our forefathers leaving clues to secrets hidden away long ago that National Treasure was a much better movie, had an easier to follow plot, and just more enjoyable to watch.

You are half right. Although I consider myself a devout Christian I read the book and enjoyed it for what it was - an entertaining piece of fiction with a novel plot. The movie however, sucked. They had way to many drawn out scenes of dialogue attempting to establislh the back story. That works in a book but makes for a really boring movie. The only character that displayed any real acting chops was the guy who played Gandolf in the LOTR movies.
