Don't get weird on me, son. How's that for brevity?

I wouldn't be in favor of destroying any more infrastructure in Lebanon.

I would. I'd flatten every significant structure in the Bekkaa Valley. That's the main HQ of the Hezbos, and likely their main supply route from Syria, since the valley leads directly into Syria, and is physically closer to Damascus than to Beirut.

I agree. You need to hit the "heart" of Hizbollah, which is those border towns in the Bekaa Valley. Hitting those towns would be a blow to all the fighting in southern Lebanon. Those are the entry points for the supply routes for Hezbollah.

Seems like the heart of Hizbullah is Iran. Take out their electrical grids and bring that outlaw regime to its knees. Do it now before they can get the bomb.

Well, since you taken leave of your senses, and wish to engage in shallow sophistry, I'm up to your challenge.

I've picked strawberries for a nickel a quart, worked on the drilling platform on lead tong, disposed of catalyst out of a cat "cracker" in 100 degree heat, worked on a brush crew cutting pipleline right of ways, laid pipeline, ground sight valves, was knocked down by sour gas, hoed weeds out of beans, detassled corn, and put my life on hold to protect your ability to attend law school.

Your role as barrister impresses me less than you can imagine.

Why don't you take your poetic ability, eschew your high tone "lawyering" and write poetry for greeting cards?

I'd love to cut and paste your reply into "letters to the editor."

When you reply, address me as Mr. Publisher.

Oh, the phone book was crowded with tons of broke attorneys.

Surey I missed your listing.

I should have started with A for Ambulance.

I suggest you trace your lineage, ponder what you post and don't disrepect those you do not know .

I assure you, by the grace of God, I am not your son.

"I wish America could issue a statement of support for Israel to achieve the complete destruction of HezB including explicit warnings to Iran and Syria to stand down."

second that motion

Yes, shallow sophistry is a challenge you are up to, but not much else.

Really enjoyed your tear-jerk biography, but you left out the barefoot part or do you also "eschew" shoes these days?

If you somehow protected my ability to go to law school, that must have been the military of the Carter years, when apparently, they were still accepting just about anyone.

Listen, Mr. Publisher, owning a thesaurus and looking at the world through your rectum may yet make your fame as the only person even a lawyer wouldn't represent.

I didn't miss your listing at all, it was right there under A as well.

BTW, go easy on the thesaurus-save some for your next failed attempt at intellect.

Oh, a flaming hypocrite to boot. The trifecta.

HockeyPop, I thought your Mohammedan letter to "Mr. Kike" was a brilliant analogy, and summed up the situation quite well. I have firsthand experience in Lebanon, and know that many of the the Lebanese are good people.

Remember that all competing factions gave up their arms and militias -- except Hizb'Allah. Now the Christians, Druse and good Sunnis of Lebanon are outnumbered and hopelessly outgunned by an evil Shiite element, and are powerless to reclaim their country. I truly feel sorry for those people, but now Israel must do what Israel must do. Any compromise which leaves Hizb'Allah intact will only guarantee a bigger and bloodier fight in the near future.

there is no land to trade, so much for that. As for trades, I think the arrest of the hamas leaders, who are in on all the illegal conduct is a huge trump card.

Hezbollah and the civilian infrastructure are quite intermingled.

As is their government. Hezbollah is a part of the government there, they even have cabinet posts. I am sure Israel was hoping that was because of the terrorists strength, not because the others controling Lebanon actually agreed with the Jihad. But Lebanons government is not representative of the people, but of Syrias control over the people.

In the end, when evil men rule, the people pay.

I suggest that Israel get a lot of thermal high explosive bombs, detonate at 1500 ft above ground and use a carpet bomb approach to southern Lebanon.

Tell everyone they have 24 hours to migrate north. After that, death and destruction.

It is time that the Arabs learned the meaning of war.

They have been having a cake-walk with the democratic west and Israel for years. It is time they pay in blood.

At any cost? If stopping the military operations on Israel side would stop the rockets from Hezbollah, would you accept SUCH cost?

I think the context of my post would answer that question before it was asked...I agree with Olmert...Hezbollah and Hezbollah's capabilitites to attack Israel must be eliminated...So NO, to answer your question...

"even the majority who hate Hezbollah."

Says who? Where is the resistance?

The Maronite Christian leader of Lebanon Michel Aoun allied with Hezbollah in 2/06.

Remember President Bush's - you are either with us or against us.

"Sometimes one must take causalities for the cause for decency"

Here is how I see it.

6 million Jews in Israel

1.5 Billion Jew hating Muslims

Proportionality is 250 Muslims to 1 Jew.

"Sometimes "one" must survive.

I'm with you partially. The thing that struck me was that it was a military man quoted as saying they would attack civilian infrastructure, perhaps out of turn. In Israel no decision like that is made by the military. They answer to the Cabinet directly.

I agree the war needs to be expanded, but I disagree in your deemphasis of air support. Air support can strike anywhere in a wide area quickly. Ground support is much slower to move from crossing A to crossing B. Plus it's a potential trap even if strongly reinforced. How would these troops answer to supplies backed with Syrian tanks and APCS?

I think both sides don't really have full conviction here, which is to Israel's advantage over the long run, but long run isn't an objective. Israel needs to smash Hezbullah. I think they still don't know their enemy or their skills. Several reports of Israeli retreats and regrouping under heavy fire.. that means bad intel... and that means move cautiously.
