the difference being?????
allegations? it is absolutely true that he is an anti-Semite (and a chip off the old block). I almost feel sorry for him.
Why on earth does William Donahue try to defend Mel Gibson????? Bill should know better than that, and as for Ted Turner, he is a nasty rotten bigot who continues to hate devout Christians and Jews. If Donahue wants to turn the other cheek to Turner, he can do it - I won't! And I recall a fracas with Michael Savage on his show in which Savage went off the deep end and made some offensive comments. Has Bill forgiven that?
"complex?" Yes, after 2,000 years one does develop a complex. Thanks for the psychobabble!
The Mods usually comply :)

"whether dad was right?" Are you nuts? Gibson is a wacko - a chip off the old block.
Ransom was a lousy movie. Signs was a nutty movie.
He already has William Donahue apologizing for him. Bill should pick better fights than defending Gibson.
What is your point? "My father never lied to me" - meaning, my father never told me lies about history. Oh, yes he did!
I'm not going to re-explain the comment.
It's clear if you understand wtf quotation marks are used for that I was commenting on a thought Mel might have had.
I'm not a pulitzer writer, but you are the third kneejerk reaction who posted a stupid reply. Either re-read my comment and study for context or read the rest of my posts on the thread.

Since I don't know Hutton Gibson's mental state, I can't say you're wrong. But you could be.
I can't believe people are arguing over this stuff.
Exactly. That poison had to be in there in the first place in order to come out. If I got that drunk I'd no doubt spout all kinds of offensive nonsense but I am 100% it wouldn't be anti-semitic hate.
And Hitchens was sober when he did it, too!
I'm with you Clara Lou ... almost funny if not pathetic comment.
From what I've heard, there has been an allegation that an officer changed his report and left out Gibson's alleged anti-semetic remarks.
Has it been proven that Gibson really made the alleged remarks? If he made anti-semetic remarks, he cannot be legally punished for exercising free speech, even though it's offensive.
If it can't be proven that he made the anti-semetic remarks, why the condemnation? Until it is proven that Mel made anti-semetic remarks in his drunken state of arrest, these vicious attacks toward him from this very FR forum angers and astound me.
I don't know what was in their minds. I don't think they even knew fully as the alcoholic personality switch was thrown after a few sips. I was a child when I witnessed this sort of angry behavior repeatedly in alcoholic adults.
