True, but he's less appalling than Ned Lamont.

Do we have another Cindy in the making?

I think so. On another thread about this I dubbed him "The Cindy Sheehan of the Euthanasia Movement." I think it fits.

I very much hope Lamont wins the primary, but this doesn't look promising for him. Is Lamont doing this to attact pro-death votes? And shouldn't he already have that constituency? This was a bad move for Lamont because it won't improve his support(Mike Schiavo is no martyr. Terri was. As a symbol of oppression Mike rates way below Mother Sheehan), but this will enrage his enemies. If Lamont doesn't already have the left fringe vote he is in big trouble.

To Kaine's credit, he didn't want to touch Schiavo with a ten foot pole.

True enough, but it was a death case.

Thank you for your civil response...I always found it tough to have a "conversation" on this topic here.

I always find it tough that Americans sat back and let a disabled woman starve to death and somehow this was exceptable. IT WAS NOT EXCEPTABLE! The terrorists who behead innocent civilians get more sympathy than this woman.

Of course any person can register to vote and indicate a party choice. That has no relation to being associated with a party for election purposes. Indeed, judges do not stand for election at partisan elections.

I will be able to retire this flag if Tom Gallagher becomes the next Governor of Florida.

(George Soros' Death Project and Fla Right to Die, Robert Woods Johnson in partnership with Fla AG Crist)

We know what parties the Pinellas County judges are in and Judge George Greer is a Republican, a fat cat RINO. He was endorsed by the Pinellas County HQ in 2004 instead of them staying out of the race between Greer and Govan. Pinellas HQ can't get Terri supporters to come in to volunteer. Yet, they have literature on their shelves about Crist being pro-life. IT IS A PACK OF LIES.

Judge Greer violated numerous judicial canons during the 2004 race. Greer should have been disqualified, Terri would be alive and Lieberman's seat would not be at risk because he tried to save an innocent woman.

Crist is very close friends of Judge Greer which is why he didn't defend Terri's Civil Rights as Fla AG. They are all RINOS, out for themselves. They all helped kill an innocent woman.

Good is called evil and evil is called good. We are there, folks.

Starved and dehydrated to death by judges, doctors who can't get work outside of a hospice, law enforcement and RINOS.

I see you believe revsionist history can be fun even if it's only a couple of years in the past.

There is no Republican way to probate an estate or Democratic way to approve a bond issue for storm sewers or road rights-of-way. In Florida judges do not condition their decisions, ruling and opinions on partisan ideology. Like every other rational and reasonably educated person, judges have views and interpretive methodologies. After all, they see the world every day, read the papers, journals, TV, magazines, editorials, etc. and are affected by their personal background and experience--as well as influenced by those whom they trust in the exchange of ideas.

All that being true, it's the governing procedural rules and authoritative case law in conjunction with the facts that guide their rulings. Sometimes, indeed often for some, they get reversed by an appellate court. That's why we have the reviewing courts. Humans can err. That doesn't mean that the trial courts' decisions are compelled or even guided by partisanship or by party loyalty. The benefit of the Florida judicial system is that it is not dominated by party hacks or that judges find it necessary to bend to a party's check writing largess for a campaign. States to the contrary are burdened by partisanship in a system that is supposed to be governed by rules, statutes and case authority.
