The Asean Regional Forum this year has a heavy agenda with conflict raging in the West Asia, a missile crisis on the Korean peninsula, and fury over Burma’s refusal to embrace democratic reforms. I saw an interview with her in which she recounted her awakening as a feminist. It was a very traumatic experience. In grad school she went to a professors apartment to read poetry. He hit on her. She stormed out crying and proceeded to vomit. Seriously. That was her story.
