Well, according to Geraldo on BOR the other night, the UNIFIL's are only Fijians.

Wonder how the Fijians will respond?

I had a discussion with a FReeper about this yesterday- it's appalling, isn't it?

Explain it? No. I cannot. It is utter madness to my way of thinking...but then- I'm not living in Israel..nor do I have a firm grasp of Israeli politics.

It SEEMS...the libs (in Israel) are content to keep giving away land to stop the madness. I would think they'd see where this will end..but who knows?? I would like to know Bibi's thoughts on this...LOL;)

I think there are a lot of "Abu Jaffars" running around

"The Americans want to make it a Crusaders-Muslim war, and if it keeps going like this, they will get one," said Abu Jaffar, an unemployed Iraqi musician who gathers daily with other displaced Iraqis, including several former soldiers in Hussein's army, to drink lemon-lime sodas on Baghdad Street.

"With what's going on in Lebanon, I can tell you that all the Arabs are supporters of Hezbollah," he said. "Because they are Muslims."

Beware of Unholy Terror Alliance

By Richard Z. Chesnoff NY Daily News February 11, 2003

One reason for the nation's increased security alert may be a scary new terror mix at work in the Middle East and Africa. Senior intelligence sources tell me that elements of Al Qaeda and the Lebanon-based Hezbollah recently joined forces to plan a series of attacks using unconventional weapons - particularly chemical weapons.

According to the sources, whom I have known for more than two decades and whose information has always proved impeccable, groups of Al Qaeda and Hezbollah activists from the Sidon area of Lebanon met in Africa in December to set up joint operations there.

The sources say the meeting was attended by a leading operative from Hezbollah, Abu Jaffar.

Al Qaeda, dozens of whose fugitive fighters found shelter in Lebanon, was represented by two men: one of Osama Bin Laden's top surviving chemistry experts and Haroun Fazul, a senior African-based operative who U.S. intelligence believe was involved in the attacks on the U.S. Embassies in Kenya and Tanzania in 1998.

Several Lebanese blogs were reporting over the weekend that Hez was dragging people off the streets and accusing them of being Israeli spies...

Funny how THOSE reports aren't making into the media, eh?

It's all bloody children, all the time on ANYTHING coming out of beruit.....

yea but this is not 67, 73 or 82 where they knew Soviet intervention would keep the Israelis at bay. Imagine sitting in Assad's shoes right now, you've got a bunch of war hardened Americans to your east and some pissed off Israelis to your south and soon to be to his west also. Your only friends in the world are Hizbullah and Iran who looks to be throwing you under the bus right now. Don't underestimate what a cornered animal may do, there are a bunch of folks in TelAviv whose life hangs on the outcome of this little war.
