Unfortunately, we have about 140,000 Americans in the flyover territory, and if this gets ugly we're going to have to get sucked in.

I do know this: The Iraqi Constitution stipulates that a Jew may never become a citizen of "The New" Iraq. If that says anything about the mindset.

It's not that God doesn't know of and allow these things - it's the notion that God Himself wills it so that something good can come about. That's absolutely impossible. God bring goodness in spite of evil, not because of it.

A former Ambassador to Israel was on FNC an hour ago or so and said that Syria and Iran are behind this. They are funding Hezbollah and giving them rockets, etc.

The terrorists cannot be allowed to make it to Syria with the kidnapped Israeli soldiers.

The transfer to Iran cannot be allowed to happen.

Israel needs to shut the Lebanese-Syrian border tight.

Otherwise, it's probably WWIII.

The only thing that was not assumed is that the US can refuel Israels jets above Iraq.

Exactly!!!

Our problem is we see death as something to be avoided at all costs - as we should, we have a survival instinct. We mostly stay in denial about its inevitability. God takes a somewhat longer view.

I wasn't aware that South Carolina was in an alternate universe.

Your last is so full of fudges, topical leaps and misdirection that I have to wonder if you even believe any of it.

Dirt can be modified for use in a centrifuge. It is mighty odd that you don't even ask yourself the question of why Iraq would buy 60,000 of something that they would then have to modify to make them even minimally useful for the purpose you ascribe to them - minimally useful because, as everyone who knows anything about this agrees, the tubes were too small in diameter to be used with any centrifuge design available to Iraq.

As far as your last point, I said it wasn't "complete public proof" as stated by another poster, and you took issue with my statement. If you agree that it isn't, there isn't much point in you contesting my post.

Looking back at history, it is clear that But for the ovens there would be no Nation of Israel today. If you believe that God was not in control during WWII, then God is not worth worshipping. If something like that could happen in direct violation of God's will, then God is not all powerful, he is impotent.

God permitted the Holocaust because He has given man free will. He did not positively will it so that He could use the deaths of six million Jews to create the state of Israel.

You seem to be saying that everything that happens is God's will. That is simply not true.

IMHO, Hizbullah is afraid of Israel, so it's trying to internationalize the conflict.

"Afraid of Isreal? Whatever gave you that idea?"

#1. This is what you said: Israeli intelligence thinks a lot of things, and says a few things. Not everything they say is correct (i.e. Iraq is purchasing high-strength aluminum tubes designed for use in centrifuges - an assessment that no one who builds centrifuges has ever backed).

#2. I posted links that Colin Powell talked about the tubes we had in our possession which proved the administration's point.

#3. There were reports that France and other intel services concurred with the Bush administration.

#4. Our DOE had conflicting opinions. Some people within the DOE thought the tubes could be used for centrifuges. Some did not.

#5. But let's not further hijack the thread on this kind of off topic matter. We will never agree on this. But a lot of us, if not most of us, agree that there are factions within our own government who are willing to go on record to say anything, no matter how untrue, to undermine the Bush administration.

"If they knew that Hezbollah was taking the prisoners to Iran - knew, not supposed, or suspected, or even had indications of - why in the world would they make a public statement to that effect? "

PR move to force Iran to do something. Iran is developing nukes and now Iran is kidnapping Israeli soldiers. It forces the UN to take a harder line against Iran and if not, it validates Israel going after Iran without caring about world condemnation.

Seems to me the world wants Irans nukes gone and once again, gods children are playing the role of savior to the world.

But God does not and cannot positively will evil.

You are on very shaky ground when you say God "cannot" do something, my friend. I agree that he doesn't.

If Iran attempts to do this in concert with Hezbollah, it is an act of war and represents Iran falling into a huge fly trap.

Not at all, because a fly trap actively tries to attract a fly - which is as far away from the behavior of Israel as you can get. This is more like a fly landing on a glowing hot stove element.

"Are they really that stupid?"

Yes, they are. They also just made mosques open for visitors. From the Haaretz article listed in post 13.....

An Al-Jazeera correspondent said Thursday that he had evidence that the two soldiers - identified Thursday as Ehud Goldwasser, 31, of Nahariya, and Eldad Regev, 26, of Kiryat Motzkin - were alive during the abduction. He said they were transferred to a Shi'ite mosque in a nearby town, where the abductors changed clothes. According to the report, one of the soldiers was transferred in a cab, to make it difficult for Israeli intelligence to locate him. The Al-Jazeera correspondent stressed that he had received the information from a source close to Hezbollah, and that members of the organization refuse to disclose more information with nothing in return.

Makes me wonder if this was sheer stupidity, or done on orders from higher ups. If Israel enters or blows up the mosque, it will get international condemation starting with the UN.

If it doesn't, the kidnappers know they can hide their victims and themselves in mosques. I bet Iran is hoping for the former, so they can get on with The End Of Days.

The 12th imam must be getting tired of sitting in the bottom of that well with all those cockroaches --> er, virgins. Curious, isn't it, how aljazeera has proof the kidnap victims are alive? Maybe they and their hosts got a ride from a news van? Or maybe they know the soldiers are dead already, and are trying to influence negotiations.
