not one tear was shed for my grandma, just laughter about what she used to do.

I have experienced this, Morgan, when I have had a great loss..It is such a blessing..It is wonderful to laugh and share.Maggie loved to laugh and make us laugh,too!

Morgan, there is a tradition here in W.Va. that following a funeral, the ladies of the person's home church will have a great feast prepared at the church for the family and friends after the funeral. It may also be a tradition there as well. It's a wonderful thing, I think because it is an affirmation of life and looking forward to the great feast with our Lord in Heaven that we are promised in the Bible. Recounting the good memories of the loved one over food and drink may have roots in the Irish Wake. Of course, as a pastor, I get to enjoy a lot of great meals after presiding over funerals. I'll tell you a secret. I would rather do funerals than weddings. You won't understand that until you go through your wedding (unless you elope).

I'm so glad that you and the family had some healing by recalling the good times. It helps. Thanks for sharing your day with us. Me thinks you have some of your Gramma in you. :o)

My favorite pic is the one of the Tetons and Snake River. That is my favorite spot in the whole U.S.A. I experienced the most spiritual feeling when there. Riding the cable lift to the top of the mountain and white-water rafting down the Snake River. It was so breath-taking. As we drove back to the East that picture is the view that we saw. I watched it until I could no longer see it and then I cried. It is a spiritual place. You are forced to praise God when your eyes behold that scene.

I have never been so certain that someone is having a wonderful time with her Lord as I am of Maggie...She is rounding up the troops here..that is apparent! ;)
