Yeah I'm so scared of all the horrible things that North Korea can do to us. What are they going to do? Trot out the U.S.S. Pueblo with some 70s era SSMs and throw a couple dozen poorly maintained MiG-25s and SU-23s at us? North Korea is a paper tiger, and Kim Jong-Il knows that even better than we do. He doesn't even have the resources to take care of his peopel in peace time, much less have the fuel, munitions, and food to sustain a prolonged full scale conflict with us, South Korea, Japan, and whoever else would get into it with us against them. There isn't squat they could do if we shot their p**s pot missile down. Bush could literally give Il the finger via cable TV and tell him "send up anymore, and we'll drop them too you little mongaloid looking toad." and all Il could do is yell and threaten.

I'd rather see it surreptitiously fried by a big laser - and then catastrophically failing at launch.

Five decades into research and billions of dollars into ABM's is culminating into this. It would be rather interesting and fascinating to see the results.

I hope the SOB veers off course and heads towards the US....then it would be the perfect excuse to take out "The Sun"....

Yep. The current situation is a 'cease fire agreement', not a peace treaty.

To: Smokin' Joe
Your right. They only signed an Armistice not a peace treaty. They signed that Armistice in 1953. Technically, we are still at state of war with North Korea.

What I'm anticipating happening some day, is these little terrorist states like NK and Iran as they continue to play with the nuclear Genie, one of them accidentally detonates a nuke in their own countries killing millions of their own people, like islamo-fascist homoside bombers routinely kill themselves with their own bombs when they detonate prematurely either while being assembled or while on the way to the target, killing only the terrorist bomber and their associates. One day, one of these rogue nation nukes might just go off in their faces, and an accidentally detonated nuclear device and spoil your whole century.

Probably because they are using liquid oxygen.

I'm not disagreeing with you, but I would remind you of recently acquired Al Qaeda documents that indicate one of their goals is to start a war between the US and Iran.
KJI doesn't care about his people but maybe he'd like to start a war between the US and everyone else. The conflict has to start somewhere and who says he has to finish the fight? His people are starving anyway...so what if they get killed. (/sarcasm)
To: edpc
This should be interesting. Indeed. Even vey interesting!

Liquid oxygen has a tendency to blow up if you do not have the right mixture.

Colonel Hunt said on Fox today that if we shoot it down, it means war. Aren't we technically still at war with the buggers anyway?

Not much, beyond vaporizing the entire city of Seoul and our servicemen there. But that's a pretty big deal to some of us.

We are already at war with North Korea. Well, then, they will have to declare "Double Secret War".

Seoul is more at risk of being leveled by 500 artillery pieces pointed at it.
