"Why not just face the truth as it is?"

Does this mean that YOU think these 4 women enyoy/ed the fact of the death of their hubbies?

Or do you think that they are enjoying the FRUIT of the deaths?

which is your truth?

"On the other hand, how do you think those kids are going to feel when they hear their father was going to leave their mother?"

How do you think President Bush felt when these evil women accused him of being a murderer?

Which was of course her opponents plan. Simply find the most offensive statement made, and focus on that. Thus they ensure that no one (who wouldn't already be interested in the book or agree with her basic premise) will remember anything except that part and thus "kill" her book sales.

My guess is that it is not working.

Get over it, you were wrong.

She's not wrong. Peach is entitled to her opinion, just as you are to yours.

To borrow a phrase from your post "Do you think you're infallible"?

"If Ann hadn't said something about the Jersey Girls, the LSM would have focused on some other out of context phrase or statement."

You have a point. I just imagine that her time with Matt Lauer, for example, on a show that millions watch, would have more effectively been spent talking about "godlessness," which is a pretty controversial topic in itself.

However, when Coulter mocking tosses in barbs suggesting that these men were probably going to divorce these women, that was way across the lines of human decency.

That's not what she said and the exact quote is all over this thread. What you're stating is what the MSM said that she said.

See post 167 and 174.

They don't have minds to reason with or win. Liberals are the enemy. We no longer have common ground with them. They only desire to destroy our country. You follow?

When her comments became personal and questioned the devotion of the departed to their families, Ann went waaaay off the reservation.

Nonsense. What devotion do you see on display from these women?

I believe she knows what she was doing. And she knew the reaction it would cause.

How do you think President Bush felt when Bones called for his impeachment and suggested he had gone back to drinking again?

Coulter shouldn't treat these women any different than she treats other liberals, if you ask me they got off easy.

Just because they suffered something (an untimely death of a loved one) all of us have, she's supposed to play nice?

In light of previous such commmentary...I'd say he felt like he had a MAJOR problem on his hands.

LOL. You're assuming that Bush even reads Coulter's columns or was even aware that she made such a statement.

If the President never said anything about the criticism from the Joisey Gals, Michael Moore, the NYC Democrat and hundreds of other anti-Bush comments made throughout his term by various leftists, what makes you think he's going to feel hurt from Coulter's remarks?

So when Kitty Kelley came out with her book against the Bush family, and when liberal commentators trashed the Bush twins for their partying, did you get upset too?

I beat you by years. Kitty Kelley pissed me off years earlier when she trashed the Reagan's when she penned that unauthorized bio of Nancy. So in answer to your qestion: Yes, Kitty Kelley has been offending me for years. What this has to do with the subject at hand, I have no idea.

What Ann said is way less inflammatory than Craig Kilborn's "Sniper's Wanted" photo of Bush or the NYC Democrat talking about putting a bullet between Bush's eyes.

That's like saying that Charlie Manson is a better person than Jeffery Dahmer because he didn't eat his victims. Killborn was way out of line, that's not even in question. However, it doesn't matter how aggregious Killborn's offense is at the moment, as he's not the topic of discussion.

"Wideawake is completely correct. Placing a quotation in context means reading it in its proper place, in the midst of its surrounding material."

OK, now we're getting somewhere. There apparently is a context in which some of those quotes would be proper. We're having a discussion. I've seen the quotes. I'm told there is a proper context by people who've presumably read it, because they speak with great authority. I asked what the context was. I'm told I need to buy the book. Is that the way it has to be? I can't just have a discussion and get information from people who know what the context is?

That's Coulter ENTIRE POINT! The libs can't control the dissemination of information anymore so they've resorted to using messengers that you aren't suppose to be able to engage in debate!

Ann took their tactic and shoved it up their poop chute!

Nah. He probably took it in the same way he took the criticism of the Jersey Girls.

Those here who are defending Coulter on the premise that she's concerned about Bush's feelings need to know that she couldn't care less about Bush's feelings.
