"This Is Spinal Tap" is Exhibit A on why the Reiner men should be encouraged to make movies, and prohibited from doing anything else.

As moviemakers go, they are geniuses. As policy wonks, not so much.

Natalie left her first husband when the chicks made it big. Her current husband is Iranian/French I believe. He is an actor. Adrian Pasdar.

It's tacky, but I think (in my own little head) the one way they could hope to come back in country is if they ditch Natalie and the sisters say they're sorry. The trick is if they could find another singer. I think the PR is doable just because, if the sisters came out and said Natalie has been basically dragging them through this and they had to go along with it to keep the group together, I think the sisters could get some pity and (if they put out an awesome album) might could come back. The trick would be if the sisters have it in them without Maines.

Otherwise, I think they've Milli Vanilli'd themselves unless they can pull off pop. But I think the problem they're gonna have in pop is that they're too old and too clean cut. Unless they can pull of a better change in vocal style than they did for their current album from what little I've heard, I don't think they have the vocal ability or charisma of a Cher or a Tina Turner and they're too old to pick up the teen crowd. Right now, everything about them is built for country music.

That's just me, though. Oh well. I just hate it that they did this.

Indeed. Absolutely brilliant film. I'm still waiting for the next picture from independent documentary maker Marty diBergi.
