Would you do so if the law were more to your liking? Would you secure our borders and ports? Would you halt illegal immigration? Those are rhetorical questions, only, I assure you. The answers are obvious; obvious because of your conduct.

He tells it like it is. The lip service that is being paid to border control on both sides of the aisle is a pack of lies.

No but Lou Dobbs figures "Conservatives" are fools the way he lies to them daily.

Yeah, "Conservatives" really should take for their hero a guy who is a ultra leftist Socialist on every other issue but Immigration. Hey Lou, you are suppose to be a "Journalists" how about you STOP lying and accurate REPORT what the President has said on Immigration?

Here Lou, here is a LINK to the President's speech. But THAT right, It is just about finding something to whine endlessly about at the Republicans for, not actually coming up with solutions to the problem! How stupid of us to think the Perpetual Whiners actually wanted a SOLUTION instead of something to bitch endlessly about. Funny how quick supposed "Conservatives" have been to fall in love with this CNN Democrat Party mouthpiece. For those of you intrested in the facts instead of the latest DNC propaganda burst, link to President Bush's speech on Immigration Reform below.

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1611523/posts

Snip... I made clear that a comprehensive immigration reform bill must include three elements: First, comprehensive immigration reform must secure our borders. Since I took office, we've increased funding for border security by 66 percent, and Federal agents have apprehended and sent home more than 6 million people entering this country illegally, including more than 400,000 with criminal records. To improve security at the border, we're hiring thousands more Border Patrol agents; we're deploying new technologies like infrared cameras and unmanned aerial vehicles to help our agents do their jobs; we're installing physical barriers to entry, like fences in urban areas. We're making good progress, but we have much more work ahead to gain control of our border. I'll continue to work with Congress to strengthen border security, so we can prevent illegal immigrants from crossing our border and make the immigration system more orderly and secure. Second, comprehensive immigration reform must strengthen the enforcement of our laws in America's interior. Since I took office, we've increased funding for immigration enforcement by 42 percent, increased the number of immigration enforcement agents and criminal investigators, enhanced worksite enforcement, and gone after smugglers, gang members, and human traffickers. A good immigration bill should enhance our ability to stop document fraud and help employers comply with our laws. Finally, comprehensive immigration reform must include a temporary worker program that relieves pressure on our borders, while rejecting amnesty. A temporary worker program would create a legal way to match willing foreign workers with willing American employers to fill jobs that no American is available to do. By creating a legal channel for those seeking temporary work in America, we would reduce the number of people trying to sneak across the border. This would free up law enforcement officers to focus on criminals, drug dealers, terrorists, and others who mean us harm. A temporary worker program would also improve security by creating tamper-proof identification cards, so we can keep track of every temporary worker who is here on a legal basis and identify those who are not. A new temporary worker program should not provide amnesty. Granting amnesty would be unfair to those who follow the rules and obey the laws. Amnesty would also be unwise, because it would encourage others to break the law and create new waves of illegal immigration. We must ensure that those who break our laws are not granted an automatic path to citizenship. We should also conduct the debate on immigration reform in a manner worthy of our Nation's best traditions. To keep the promise of America, we must remain a welcoming society and also enforce the laws that make our freedom possible. As we do, our Nation will draw strength from the diversity of its citizens and unity from their desire to assimilate and become one people. By working together, we can fix our immigration system in a way that protects our country, upholds our laws, and makes our Nation proud. Thank you for listening.

Dobbs to President: Do you take us for fools?

Not "fools" -- more like "non-entities". He just doesn't care.

This might be the issue that returns Congress and the White House to the Dems. True, the Dems are no better, and possibly worse, on this issue, but this will erode the Republican base, and the Dems will demagogue it and fool some people in the middle that they'll do a better job.

The George W. Bush solution to lawbreaking: Make the illegal activity LEGAL.

He has done so de facto anyhow, by refusing to enforce the laws against hiring illegals.

Lou Dobbs is a DICK! So he may be on the right side of one issue. He may be - but on this issue he is showing more spine than 95% of our GOP legislators and the POTUS.

To me, this issue resolves many other issues we have in the country right now. What GWB proposes is a flaccid dick proposal.

That's pretty much it. The folks running the show these days are of the type that only respond to one thing: POWER.

GWB said in that speech that his temporary (guest) worker program "should not be amnesty". As he said before in a speech about his desire for a guest worker program, "that we won't call it amnesty...can' call it amnesty" says everything I need to know about this treasonous puppet we have in the White House. He lies to us thinking we will agree to his lies. It is amnesty, no matter what you or he says, and it won't stand and neither will GWB.

Guest workers? Who invited them? They broke into our country, so in addition to lies, GWB intends to change the English language, no matter that the criminal aliens can't speak English, he wants to claim that the criminals are guests. Burglars who break and enter homes are now known as guests.

Bush is reminding me of my boss. It's his way or no way. Bush really has me scratching my head at times. First he appoints Meyer's for the Supreme Court. He insults us by saying that these immigrants are doing jobs that American's don't want to do. Excuse me Mr. President, but who was doing these jobs twenty years ago? He calls the Minutemen who are patrolling the border a bunch of vigilantes. And now he blames us for the high gas prices saying that we have an addiction to oil.
