Fox News Sunday guest: Washington Nationals co-owner Mark Lerner

It appears that "Power Player of the Week" is still going on. Looks like I can plan on saving 10 minutes of my life again today by turning off the TV early before the show is completely over.

FOX NEWS SUNDAY: Too much of a gut check to watch unless Hoekstra goes first, then change the channel.

MEET THE PRESS: I'd rather be tied down and horse whipped than watch Timmy or Pelosi.

FACE THE NATION: I'd rather be tied down, covered in honey and fire ants than watch traitor McCain.

THIS WEEK: This is clearly the main show to watch because of Tom DeLay!

LATE EDITION: Looks watchable. Still can't believe CNN is appearing to be fair & balanced.

Ahhhhhhh,

Things look like the press has the Repubs backpedaling, and along comes Nancy Pelosi. YES!! She is such a dimwit and represents everything the conservatives have been saying about the Dems.

Timmy Russert was even astonished at her stupidity.

NICE!!!

"MEET THE PRESS (NBC): House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif.; Bush impersonator Steve Bridges."

Real quality programming there.

I just watched MTP with Fatboy Russert and I have to say he really grilled Nancy Pelosi on the following:

1) Will a dem Congress try to impeach Bush?
2) Will the dems raise taxes or roll back the Bush tax cuts in order to pay for all her/the dems new domestic iniatives, especially there new massive "energy bill?"
3) Will the dems ban all lobbyists?

He really went after her on the tax and impeachment issues. Pelosi looked very nervous, not ready for prime time. She fumbled her words a lot, and gave very awkward answers. I think the more she, John Conyers, Charlie Rangel, Cynthia McKinney, Patrick Kennedy et. al. speak out for the dem party the better the Repubs will do.

My wife just hates it when I scream at the TV. She hates it even more when I rewind the Tivo, so I can scream some more.

Rush is going to have a frickin' field day with Pelosi this week. Tim Russert again proves himself to be the master of the leading question, with the bear trap ready to go...

"$50 Billion spent on defending the seaways for oil tankers, and that money could be better spent buying "energy independence".

I take that to mean she wants to disband the Navy and surrender the entire Persian Gulf to Iran. What else could that statement possibly mean??

There were so many things to scream about, I lost count.

By the way...

Did anyone notice the really hard push on the conservatives " driving down the presidents poll numbers"?

Now for some reason the MSM is trumpeting this like it helps the Democrats. How can that be? The conservatives are certainly not going to vote for an out and out liberal just because they are a little disenchanted with Bush. They really have no clue in Washington do they. The libs are so eager to " get Bush" that they will create an alliance with absolutely anyone that says they even mildly disagree with the man....they are insane.

Mark Kilmer's review of the Sunday Shows is up on Redstate.COM

The Sunday Morning Talk Shows - a Review

For Sunday, May 07, 2006

On a morning when a popular lefty blogger wails in the WashPost that Hillary ignores the Deaniac netroots at her own peril, Nancy Pelosit (MTP) and Howard Dean (TW) does just that, pointing out that they're not about impeachment and that their campaign will be about "bringing people together."

Pelosi also argued that he(r) gut political instinct tells her that Porter Goss was linked by Osmosis to the Duke Cunningham scandal, and "it reflects on the President." Tim Russert hounded Pelosi about "repealing the Bush tax cuts," but she wouldn't give in. She did hint at tax increases with her "pay as you go" bit, but she never explicitly admitted it.

You know, General Michael Hayden has not been nominated to replace Porter Goss at the Central Intelligence Agency, but this morning, one would think that he had been. House Intelligence Committee Chairman Pete Hoekstra of Michigan opposes Hayden's nomination because of DOD concerns. On TW, Senator Saxby Chambliss indicated the same. Jane Harman, the ranking Dem on House Intell, argued that President Bush was "leading the Senate into a trap" with the Hayden nomination, wherein a vote for Hayden would be a vote for domestic wiretapping. (Pelosi and Diane Feinstein (TW) dig the surveillance program, they say, but they want the President to "follow the law.")

John McCain was uncontroversial on Face the Nation, though he did indicate that General Hayden, USAF, was "more of an intelligence person than a military officer." (He probably meant in his current role, or some such.)

Joe Biden and Arlen Specter on FNS think the Hayden confirmation hearings will offer them a chance to find out what exactly is the NSA domestic anti-terrorism surveillance program.

Pat Roberts on Late Edition firmly dismissed the Duke Cunningham allegations against Porter Goss.

This was a fun week on this end. Read the show-by-show review beneath the fold.
