It's only the natural progression of a movement based on unfounded science and unbridled arrogance, for, make no mistake about it, the state always feeds on the arrogation of power and wherever power is gained there is a concomitant loss.

Excellent idea. Nothing worse than having to be around a smoker. What an awful addition. Killing children is not to be found anywhere in the Constitution.

I think Katrina showed the politicians of Louisiana are not the smartest on the proverbial block.
These are the same people who sat back and argued while thousands of their constituents were maimed and killed.
Then these same idiots had the gall to go crying to the public and blame the president for their stupidity and graft.
All ready the politicians are proving that they can not be trusted with public money.
Before this is over lots of good ole boys (Democrats) will get rich off the backs of the poor black plantation dwellers.

is it just me or does all the politicians in Louisiana seem to have a 'D' by their name?

Another unenforceable law threatens. Unenforceable laws create a policed state where what is not compulsory is prohibited. This is what we can expect when we lose the protection of the U. S. Constitution. Lawmakers can pass any law they please.
This danger to our freedoms and liberty could be easily removed.
Any new legislation should be required to carry a statement showing where in the U.S.Constitution such a proposal is authorized.
State lawmaking bodies should be required to do the same thing for any state legislation proposed.
Such a proposal is introduced in almost every new session of Congress by someone usually described as being on the "extreme right." It is never brought to the floor of Congress and is kept bottled up in committee or allowed to die no matter which major party is in power.
This is as clear a statement as possible that neither party is willing to be governed by the U. S. Constitution.
Where am I wrong? Anyone?

This isn't about "the children" this is about MONEY. Pure and simple! Just another way for the state to steal money. These people don't give one rats ass about "the children".

I'm not for Big Brother / Big Government intrusion into our lives. I don't like wearing seatbelts and having to drive 70 mph on the interstate. There are a lot of laws that I don't like. But, this one I think it's a good idea.
I've seen people in cars with ALL windows rolled up and two kids in the back seat in car seats and a CLOUD of smoke filling the car. I couldn't handle that but I have a choice; babies don't.

Rep. Gary Smith, D-Norco, said he introduced the measure because he wants to prevent health problems that children can have from second hand smoke inhalation.I know where he lives. I should get a child car seat and a baby doll, light up a stogie and drive past his house a few times.

wow..my most popular post..I don't know what to say..I find smoking a vile and disgusting habit..I hated to be near it..but as long as it a legal substance and taxed most heavily..people should work or eat at places that do not allow smoking..they should not force their prefences thru the law..at least make smoking illegal..but we all know that they need the taxes..as for the bogus second hand smoke...I am not a doctor..but how in the world could a doctor walk into a patient room and tell them that they have terminal cancer from second hand smoke..did that doctor follow them around and determine that they were around bad smokers???...it is yet another case of bad science with politically motivated causes..

My ancestors came to America from Scotland to enjoy more freedom.. economic, personal and religious.
If America becomes as controlled as Europe what was the point, especially for the children born when we are as controlled.
