Right. I'm a liberal for wanting a terrorist to receive the death penalty? Spare me. If that's the level of your thinking, then I'll just skip your posts from now on.

My American certainly didn't win because of the jurors' verdict.

How can you call it a victory for America?

I've had it with Bill OReilly too. he has no problem with the verdict.

Frankly, anyone who would oppose the death penalty for this scum is a traitor.

Couldn't agree more.

Nothing can be done now. Evil won on 9/11, and it won again today.

As a country we will just have to deal with the next challenge as best we can.

my first reaction would be to fry him... but we would only make him a martyr.. which he sorely wants as he failed to carry out his part of the hijacking. He is a loser. Redemption would be his if America would execute him. It is better to let him rot in 24hr lockdown.. taking orders from the infidel dogs he despises... a lifetime of him living in our prison system, by our rules.. now that is punishment for an islamic fucknut who was robbed of his suicide mission. I hope Bubba pays him a visit

I remember a couple of years ago O'Reilly made a statement that he would prefer hard labor to the death penalty. Such thinking is absurd. For one, a society that opposes the death penalty is VERY unlikely to treat criminals in such a harsh manner, so it's simply wishful thinking to think that if we get rid of the death penalty we are going to end up with a system that is harder on criminals.

I cannot believe the number of FReepers who have bought into this thinking. It was a clever strategy by the defense team. Let's think about the problems with this idea:

1. By letting his beliefs play a role in how we punish him, we are recognizing the legitimacy of his beliefs.

2. His reaction after the verdict was read demonstrates that he saw this decision as a defeat for America.

3. This guy will not be visited by a Bubba in prison. He will not be sodomized, tortured, or anything like that, so please give up such fantasies. He will be in a maximum-security cell, separate from other inmates. He has an excellent legal team. He will live a very good life in jail.

4. A Supermax prison will not be a problem for this man. By all accounts, he is a loner and prefers being that way. This will give him plenty of time to think about how to destroy America next.

5. He remains alive to conspire with other terrorists.

Thanks, Sam Hill your information about Lynne Stewart is most timely given the stupid verdict today.

6. He and his legal team have set up all kinds of grounds for endless appeals and will now work non-stop on getting him released from prison so he can rejoin his brothers in al Qaeda at some point in the future. At the very least, he'll raise all kinds of hell pushing the legal system to the limits with endless frivolous and abusive lawsuits, and hold all of us to never-ending mockery all over the world.

My guess is he'll be out of prison in less than 10 years, and maybe less than five.

Why can't they put Moussawi in a "family" cell with Sirhan Sirhan, John Hinckley and about 7 other totally verminous Perps, then give them enough food to feed half of them each day. Perhaps they could also toss in some nice metal eating implements including esp. knives and forks.

Get a grip. America did not win nor lose because a jury decided that a would-be terrorist scum gets life in prison instead of the death penalty. Brave men and innocent civilians died in Iraq today and some of Moussaoui's cohorts also were sent to their just "reward". This is where our wrath should be focused not on Americans doing there involuntary duty as jurors. That a jury made a decision in one case that some disagree with does not make America weak nor is it a victory for terrorists.
That some jurors were affected by things that I think they should not have been affected by does not make them traitors, idiots, or scum.
Whether Moussaoui is dead or in virtual solitary confinement until he dies, America goes on with one less POS to deal with. I don't see this as a defeat.

I wanted to see him get the death penalty. Better yet, I'd like to see him shot down by a firing squad right now. I still think that somebody in prison will kill him within the next 5 years. I sure hope so.

Has it been that long ago...

Moussaoui gets Life because the jury thought he was treated badly as a child ?

There are many people who had rough childhoods who don't slaughter thousands of innocent Americans.

Thank you for the link, that is exactly what I was looking for.

However I cannot find information on when/if Supermax prisoners are allowed visitors and/or mail?

I am relieved to know that there have been some Supermax prisoners who were murdered by fellow inmates. Let's hope ZM suffers the same fate.

Keep in mind that not all supermax prisons are the same, and that with Moussoui's top-notch legal team, he WILL get a Koran and magazines and other entertainment. Anyone who thinks he's going to be treated poorly is fooling themselves.
