>>The decision to organize a national day of protest for immigrant rights on May 1 this year is a conscious nod toward the traditions embodied by this ... holiday<<
Damn right. And don't think we have noticed that.
I've "noticed" it
I'll be at work on Pinko-de-Mayo.
IBTZ? I always like it when folks post pro-socialist feces like this in Free Republic.
We only have to look at the USSR, Cuba, France, China, Canada, Belgium, and other 3rd world hell-holes to see the benefits of socialism (Canada's not glaringly 3rd-world only because of their southern neighbor).

Sorry...typo on my part... :(
I used to love May Day!
I wonder how many Mexicans are just turning it into 2 3day weekends, with Cinco de Mayo on Friday.
They're being told by some organizers to wear white shirts and red bandanas, the uniform of the Soviet Young Pioneers.
The illegals first hijacked the American civil rights movement ("We Shall Overcome") and now they're hijacking May Day. You know a movement has nothing behind it when it has to steal everything from other movements.
Workers of the world - boycott
It's Uno de Mayo -
In Florida we've noticed that the've scheduled the protest after the hotel cleaning workers would finish their workday.
I really think we should just apply Mexican immigration law to Mexican visiting America, since ours is so unjust.
Send in the INS buses.
I must commend you for bravery. There are very few FReepers that can post from the Socialist Workers site and not get called for it. Some will likely ask for this to be pulled. It is good to know the enemy IMHO.
I've noticed a couple denials of the connection this AM. This would seem to establish it. A more detailed analysis.
Uno de Mayo--Radical leftists resume massive rallies on May Day...with illegal immigrants as props.
It's good to keep tabs on what the other side is up to.
"If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle."
From Sun Tzu's "The Art of War"
The May Pole invokes pagan fertility rites and it is a phallic symbol. Considering the boys and girls running both political they might benefit from some May Pole activity. I know the Democratic Party does not know much about procreative sexual activity and fertility. Clinton would not have a daughter for not the courage of a man like Webster Hubbell. And thank God Teddy Kennedy is so much of drunk that he is beyond the help of Viagra. But it must be said that when it comes to procreation old Teddy is at zero, he may have brought a life into the world but he certainly took one out.
Some are opting for Arab colors, their more usual attire.

Well, while we're posting links to the "enemy," check out this obituary for the father of Adam Kidron, the author of this so-called Spanish "translation" of our National Anthem:

I guess the little red diaper baby just couldn't help himself, as far as slipping in a few marxist catch-phrases here and there, lol.
