The list of political contributions is very interesting. One of them on that list was the $200 to Andreasen, Steven Peter (who apparently ran an unsuccessful campaign for congress from southern Minnesota). It may mean absolutely nothing, but here's an interesting tidbit from a 2004 article by Robert Novak that shows a link between Andreasen and Richard Clarke, which may also explain the McCarthy link:

Former counterterrorism aide Richard Clarke called himself a registered Republican in criticizing President Bush, but his only listed political contributions during the two most recent election cycles have gone to former colleagues running as Democrats for Congress.

In 2002, Clarke contributed $2,000 to Steven Andreasen, who headed arms control policy in the Clinton administration's National Security Council (NSC) and was running for Congress in Minnesota. Andreasen was defeated by Republican Rep. Gil Gutknecht.

This year, Clarke has given $1,000 to Jamie Metzl, another Clinton-era NSC staffer. Metzl is running for the House seat from Missouri left vacant by the retirement of Democratic Rep. Karen McCarthy and so far has raised far more money than any other candidate.

(BTW, I don't know of any connection between Karen McCarthy and Mary McCarthy, and am not implying any such connection) So, was Mary McCarthy, like Clarke, pretending to be one thing while actively working for the other side? I'd bet that there is a lot of scurrying for cover on the Clinton side right about now. Wonder what we'll find out when all of the dots have been connected. Of course, since there are evidently Clinton loyalists involved, their best defense has always been to go on the offense, through a combination of lies, disinformation, "everybody does it" rhetoric, and leveling trumped up charges against others in order to deflect attention from the obvious blood on their hands. Look for Clinton surrogates to be trotted out on the attack.

It wouldn't surprise me to find David Gergen getting briefed with talking points right at this very moment (Mary is a real straight shooter - I can't believe that the reports are true, but even if they are, it must be a simple case of misunderstanding. Sandy Berger would never steal classified documents, and Mary McCarthy would never leak classified information)...

She's worked with Zinni, Wilson, Richard Clarke, donated 2,000 to Kerry, 5,000 to Ohio DNC

Oh, be still my heart!

I'm sure she'll take one for the team.

INTELLIGENCE PROGRAMS Rand R. Beers (1996-1998) Mary O. McCarthy (1999-2000)

Rand Beers caught my attention when the whole Wilson this hit the news

IIRC .. he was a big Kerry supporter and a policy advisor of some sort
