That may well be true. He's just wrong. I didn't say he was lying.
Colored by the endless drumbeat of negative news from the MSM, and confronted with relatively high gas prices (though not all that high, historically and accounting for inflation), many Americans really do think the economy, well, sucks. They may have a good job, a nice car, a home, etc, but they are convinced that most other people aren't doing all that well. Although this situtation is manifestly unfair, I still blame Bush for the failure to effectively communicate the truth - on TV, on radio, on the internet - every damned day, if necessary.
I also think the immigration issue has hurt his standing with core Republican voters - and some Democrats as well. No matter: if people really want to see what a bad economy looks like, let them vote Democrat. And, after huge tax increases, when the economy turns to fecal matter, the Dems will of course blame the Republicans, with the Media applauding in unison behind them.
People that come to this country from another illegally, are not, by definition, immigrants. But they ARE by definition, criminals.
Well actually you make immigrants the enemy.
Look at Ellis Island. 20 million people went through there and all they had to do was take a health exam and show some rudimentary English skills and about 1% were rejected. It is definately not the jumble of immigration laws we have now.
But what the hey you would rather be silent about the liberal establishment.
That is because the "traditional" economic metrics measure macroeconomic phenomena, and capture macroeconomic trends.
Individuals, i.e., voters, however, are individuals. And they live within a multiplicity of microeconomies with varying degrees of correlation, or lack thereof, to the macroeconomy.
Get back to me when a Christian Mexican becomes a homicide bomber.
Isn't it obvious even to the most loyal Bush supporters that his agenda is to do allow as many illegals (Mexicans) as possible, as has been agreed upon, to enter our country before the sh*t hits the fan and he or his replacement will have no choice but to close the border or face civil unrest that could shake the foundations of our republic!!!
So you can guarantee that all of the untold millions of invaders who have illegally crossed our borders are Christian Mexicans? Hell you can't even guarantee that they are Mexican. No matter how much you wish it weren't so we are sovereign nation with borders and laws, although not enforced, against illegally crossing them. What's wrong with standing in line and obeying our laws? Why is this whole legal concept so hard for you, Vicente and Bush to grasp?
HIGH GAS PRICES = BAD NUMBERS FOR BUSH
Semantics. Actually they are by definition immigrants since they left their home country in search of a better life.
As for criminal, if a guy puts on a roof, but is not union, that would be criminal in some states.
Is that state wrong in it's law?(BTW, the criminal non-union guy can also be a native born American named Smith)
No my friend I'm on their side. They followed the law and earned their citizenship. They didn't buy it like this phony bill would have them do. They respected the laws of the country they yearned to be citizens of and I welcome them as fellow citizens.
"Isn't it obvious even to the most loyal Bush supporters that his agenda is to do allow as many illegals (Mexicans) as possible, as has been agreed upon, to enter our country..."
If you stop right there and re-phrase it you might find it more acceptable:
Isn't it obvious that Bush's agenda is to help America by taking advantage of the vast pool of affordable labor at our border? How much of the GDP growth and productivity increases we've seen are directly attributable to this farsighted strategy?
You know, I remember you.
You are pretty sarcastic and personal, launching ad hominem attacks instead of discussing issues.
People like you give conservatives a bad name. You may present your views as coonservative, but your attitude is more like that of a Democrat.
Good, but why the animus towards immigrants doing good things, such as building buildings or picking food.
BTW, when are you going to leave the keyboard and pick up a hammer or pick a carrot?
You are pretty sarcastic and personal, launching ad hominem attacks instead of discussing issues.
Look in the mirror dude.
Did they let you out for the whole day, Dane, or just a few hours?
