Too bad the majority of the protesters can't vote. That's a big part of what's at stake here.

in the interim you could go to said businesses that hire them and pay them in pesos at the register.

(they love you in Mexico until you pay in pesos.)

How can it not bite them in the butt, as you say. We've all seen what minority power can do (Jessie Jackson, Al Sharpton, etc), but there are only so many "minorities" that can share the power. I would to see the blacks and whites (for lack of a better expression) come together on this and fight illegal immigration. I am not against immigration, thats how my grandparents got here, but I am 100% against illegal immigration. I wish we as citizens had the luxury of picking and choosing which laws to obey (as i get ready to mail the IRS a nice hefty check! Just think what would happen to me if if chose to ignore that law)

" The average joe, that can't afford to, don't want to take off of work to go scream in the streets does NOT LIKE THIS AT ALL."
I keep hearing that the "immigrants" are "the backbone of the country". So I guess since they all took off of work Monday that the economy will take a hit. Lets see what happens to the economy if all of those who feel like you and I do take a day off work and then compare the loss of productivity. It will not even be close.
