Scum town is right, only thing worse is a lot of other cities now have them forever, like roaches
One would think that New Orleans would like to put its corrupt policies of the past behind them, but with this type of decision, it seems to me that they want to keep the corruption with them as they go forward.
"the other half is under indictment."...
LOL! Got a good chuckle out of that one!
What is to be expected when those investigating the crimes are just as big in the criminal world as the ones being investigated. This is a literal application of the "let he who is without guilt cast the first stone". As those who were doing the investigating were just as guilty, they didn't feel it was right to "convict" those CAUGHT ON TAPE OBVIOUSLY AND WITH AN ATTITUDE LOOTING the WalMart.
From now on, anyone in the NO area who wants to walk out of WalMart with a basket full of merchandise without paying should legally be entitled to it. Isn't there a legal precident involving "equal protection". If it's not wrong for police officers to steal, then it's not wrong for the "average Joe".
This just makes me so sick in so many ways....
Pathetic.
Okey, dokey! That explains everything. It only LOOKED like looting on TV. It's OK to loot if you have permission from your superiors. I guess you'd have to be NOPD to understand.
They had permission to put that big screen TV in the back of the stolen Caddilac?
Therefore, according to the police logic, the missing (stolen) 200 Cadillacs and Chevys were ok...too.
That last sentence shows an interesting interpretation of the law.
The NRA and SAF took them to court over that. The city at first denied they'd confiscated any firearms. Now they've agreed to return the guns they didn't confiscate. Don't know that they've actually returned any yet. I'm sure proving that a firearm is actually yours could be a bit difficult, since even if you had a bill of sale, there'd be a good chance that it would be a might soggy and hard to read. Of course there is no requirement to actually have one, I've got at least two firearms for which I never had one, and two others that I've had for over 20 years, and wouldn't have a clue where the BoS is, although I likely did keep it. Plus I've moved 5 times in that period, and things tend to get a bit scrambled when you move.
Of course if they had any clothing in their cart, it wasn't obvious. Maybe a few pairs of tennis shoes and of course those spike heals are great for wading in the swamp slime.
"They did not steal anything."
Like they were going to return it later. 8-))
Just borrowing.../s
The pictures, videos, and reports of police looting are well documented.
Just like the many school buses and city metro buses that were never used...lots of proof there, too.
I suspect if you said that, within the next couple of days you'd find yourself pulled over for "erratic driving", roughed up a bit, and then jailed for "resisting arrest." As any third world nation, New Orleans has at least as much rule by law as it does rule of law.
And they want my tax dollars to rebuild? Gimme a break.
Makes me want to go to N.O. for a vacation and spend my money knowing I'll be safely protected by the local law enforcement officers.
Anyone ever hear what became of the hundreds of ficticious cops that were getting paid? And maybe who was getting that money?
Are the N.O. police saying that it is ok to loot (steal) from any business if your get permission from a police supervisor ?
Not even prior permission...just any permission any time ?
The whole country watched these thieves steal and now we learn they get away with it. But was there really any doubt they would? They have a friggin excuse for everything they do. Intelligent people know what they witnessed. The ignorant will continue to let these leeches from hell get away with it and make excuses for them. She (the main one that talked to the reporter while stealing) is nothing but a fat pig who probably taught her own kids to steal to get whatever they want, whenever they want just as her parents did. It is THEIR way of life.
of course they were.
