NATIONAL BORDER PATROL COUNCIL ENDORSES BRIAN BILBRAY FOR CONGRESS
Bilbray Challenges Candidates to Sign Homeland Security Pledge
ENCINITAS, CA The National Border Patrol Council (NBPC), representing over 10,000 border patrol agents and employees nationwide, announced today their endorsement of Brian Bilbray for the 50th Congressional District.
TJ Bonner, President of the NBPC, said, Brian Bilbray is the only candidate in this race who can help fix our broken immigration system, he continued. Throughout his public service career, Brian has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to secure our borders, enforce immigration laws and support the dedicated men and women who enforce those laws.
Reaffirming his commitment to addressing this crisis, Bilbray said, We need to strengthen interior enforcement, create a system that would enable employers to reliably verify the eligibility of workers and give our border patrol personnel the resources they need to keep our country safe, he continued. Millions of people enter our country illegally every year, and at least eleven million illegal aliens now reside here.
Bilbray also signed a pledge to support a package of Homeland Security Bills sponsored by the Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR), I challenge all of the candidates in this race to join me in signing this pledge to strengthen border security, enhance interior enforcement measures, remove incentives for illegal immigration and support our border patrol agents, said Bilbray.
I think it is essentially fair, regardless of our immigraiton laws, to tax these money transfers and used the funds to pay for the free medical care, education, subsidized housing, social services, ect. that immigrants (legal and illegal) are provided in our county. I would venture to guess that a majority of the illegal ones pay no taxes at all, because they work and are paid under the table. No solution is perfect, but this one at least addresses the feeling of being ripped off I get on a daily basis.
My man Howard was at the border again Sunday with Jim Gilchrist who hasn't endorsed any of the candidates yet but I know likes Howard (I think he likes Morrow and I honestly don't know his views towards Bilbray).
We (Kaloogian camp) were very happy to have the endorsement of the other Minuteman co-founder, Simcox.
Isn't Bilbray from Imperial Beach?
Morrow also would be a good Rep. for the Dist.
I wonder just as much about cash drug money carried right back across the border in the same backpacks that carry in the drugs.
I very much agree with you about the fairness of it, and the fact of using the money to fund border patrol costs. However, we shouldn't look the other way when we knowingly have an illegal immigrant wiring the money in the first place. I think that's where you and I have the small difference of opinion.
You use to be. Now he lives with his family in Washington DC area and works with a lobbying firm as a lobbyist.
His mother lives in Carlsbad so claiming that as his residence. You don't have to live in a district to run for Congress.
At one time.
Kaloogian's campaign address and his backdrops on TV
are Sarcamento.
when they come in to wire money, have INS, there ready to arrest and deport them. Find out where they are employed and fine the employer for the costs incurred by the city, county, and state for dealing with these guys.
Close the darn border!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That will solve a lot of problems......
This is the best part of the story for me:
"Kaloogian is the front-runner for the San Diego-area congressional seat"
Sweet!
I'll be voting for him.
Of course, this will only catch the ones dumber than government employees.
In other words, 99% of the illegals will not be arrested.
Howard's lived in the district his entire time in San Diego as State Assemblyman and private citizen. Our campaign finance office is in Sacramento, and Howard's TV ads have the State Capitol (where he served the constituents of the 50th CD as their state legislator) in the background.
Nice try but it won't get passed much less implemented. I'm beginning to think that short of revolution we are going to see the southwest then the rest of the nation drift into full-scale socialism and third world status within our lifetimes.
I could see it being passed by the Congress, especially with Tancredo and Kaloogian pushing it. The U.S. Senate though would be more difficult.
I think the only way these things pass is if the pressure is contantly on -- with lots of different ideas, but all pushing for getting control of our borders.
You can't have a negative attitude or then for sure nothing will happen. You just have to keep pushing, pushing and pushing until the establishment figures out that people are tired of a porous border.
If we don't watch out, we are going to see another terrorist attack -- this time by people who have slipped across our porous border.
Do any of the candidates live in San Diego? (Well, any of the good candidates)?
BTW, if we're going to do this, let's place some restrictions on and tax the hell out of the cheap bastards who employ them as well. Well were at it, let's tax the salaries of the bilingualist educrats, the LEO's who refuse to arrest them, the court-appointed translators, etc. They wouldn't be here if the above criminal-enablers weren't enabling them.
And, like every other government attempt to ban a certain type of market, it will just put more money into the hands of organized crime.
I guess we haven't really learned from Prohibition or the WOD.
