1. D.C.

2. New Orleans

3. Detroit

4. Boston or Atlanta - take your pick

New Orleans has rested on their reputation and it's turned to mud, as a result.

They let the oil industry slide off to Houston ...

They let the southeast regoin's tourism/convention industry move off to Atlanta, Charlotte, & Orlando ....

Culturally it's become second to Atlanta ...

The only thing they really outsource now is crime.

Every Camden Mayor in the last 20 years, aside from the current one, has gone to prison. You don't make your bones there until you've done a stint in the big house.

Detroit is the only city I know that comes with a warning not to go there.

This is not a bad thing, at all!

Saying the City of Atlanta is moving in a better direction, is *far* from saying I'd want to live there. I'll stay here in my 'burb, thank you very much.

Your post is eerily, hauntingly reminiscent of the demise of Easter Island.

Crummy football?

Looks like Detroit wins the nod on this thread, and the Detroit Lions are the cement boots!
