Sean should have put a knee in Ted's chest and a fist in his throat, while Allen "The Crypt Keeper" Colmes screams "go to commercial!, go to commercial!"

Hannity handed him his **ss.

RALL: Sean, you could not possibly be more wrong about the nature of this country. We do not owe our liberties to the military. We owe them to the Constitution.

Rall's is a moron. I suppose he'd take a copy of the Constitution, hand it to dictators, and say "please."

Thomas Jefferson and the Founding Fathers gave us free speech.

Here's the part Teddy Rall is too stupid to understand. If I walk up to you and put a pistol to your head, Tom and the Founding Fathers' "free speech" is cancelled out and no longer exists.

"We do not owe our liberties to the military."

We don't, in Jefferson's words they are "endowed by the Creator".

We owe them to the Constitution.

Wrong Oh, the Constitution, mainly the Bill of Rights, merely protect those liberties/rights.

We have civilian rule in the United States

Indeed we do, but that doesn't change the fact that it's the military that has preserved our rights, at least from would be foreign infringers of them. For that we do owe them.

We the People have had to manage against domestic infringements, and we haven't done nearly as good a job as the military has.

Technically Rall is right. The Military didn't pen the Constitution, the Founding Fathers did.

He does not get, however, that it is the citizen (growing the beans and making the bullets) and the soldier (putting his life on the line), who keep enforcing that document around the world.

Rall is still a dirtbag, and a seditious one at that.

Alan Colmes claimed that the Joint Chiefs' letter to the Washington Post was "intimidating" and that there was a "chill of intimidation that goes right down the spine of the First Amendment."

Apparently Colmes believes the First Amendment is a one-way street. The Washington Post can publish whatever crap against whomever it chooses, but it's "intimidating" for their target to criticize it back.

"We do not owe our liberties to the military. We owe them to the Constitution."

You have the "liberty" to be in a hijacked airplane that crashes into the towers, too, Mr. Rall.

The Constitution only has teeth in it because of the military.

I don't expect you to understand such a concept, however.

He sounds just like the lefty that said to me, in response to my "If You're Free to Protest, Thank a Soldier" sign, that "Soldiers didn't give me freedom, the ACLU did."

the constitution promises those rights, the military under civilian rule guarantees them protects and defends them. Otherwise the constitution would be as enforceable as a hospital bill to an illegal.

Ted Rall gets 90% of his attention from controversy. We need to ignore this dip shit, and eventually he will just be another turd in a basement with pen and paper.

I guess Rall forgot (or, more likely, doesn't want to acknowledge) Dwight David Eisenhower, John F. Kennedy, Zachary Taylor, Teddy Roosevelt, Harry Truman, George H.W. Bush, Rutherford B. Hayes, Ulysseys S. Grant, (a bad President but a good general) Andrew Jackson, etc...

Has anyone considered that this scumbag cartoonist, created this piece of garbage simply to enflame conservatives. Maybe trying to teach us mean old conservatives how the "poor muslims" feel after the cartoons from Denmark.

Just a conspiracy theory.

I saw this, and it was infuriating. Rall was bawling and whining like a 4-yr old while Hannity chewed him out. Too bad Hannity isn't a little smarter, so he could have asked colmes, "Don't the JCOS have the 1st Amendment right to write a letter complaining about this cartoon?" I was also disappointed when Hannity later made excuses for the cop who gunned down the airman in CA.

I hate saying it, but I'll give Ted Rall one piece of credit.

He has never, ever backed down from his open hatred of the armed services, he admits it, and does not spin it.

I just wish the media (ha ha ha ha ha) would be honest and let him say it.

I hate the fact that his comments on the military are always edited out, he doesn't pretend or spin or lie, he hates the armed services and shows contempt for them, he has never tried to play games with it ala john kerry or hillary clinton.

Yet when he says those beliefs, its the only beliefs, the media leaves out.

After viewing the H&C episode, I would not be shocked if evidence revealed "Ted" was a "Tess" prior to a certain Renee Richards-type surgical procedure.

After the election, I had heard that Ted Rall was going to leave the country, and I found his email address somehow, so I sent him one:

Subject: Re: Are you leaving the country?
In a message dated 11/3/04 1:30:34 PM, rlmorel writes:

I heard you were going to leave if President Bush won re-election...is that true?

Never said it, never thought it.

I must admit I was surprised...but he didn't take the bait...:)

There really is a simple way to test Ted Rall's assertion.

Rall should draw a cartoon depicting Mohammed and wait to see what happens. I'm sure the USA military will not be there to protect his liberties, so I guess he'll be proven right.

Rall can hold that piece of paper up (perhaps in front of his heart--if he has one--to deflect the bullets) to protect him from foreign and domestic enemies.

"Don't shoot, torture, enslave, or molest me--can't you see I'm holding a constitution?"
