News reports indicate the authorities refused search and rescue help from the Israelis and U.S. I guess their own people were too busy crying about cartoons to help out.
With the WOT going on I cannot find an ounce of pity for them

N.O. is mild compared to much of the world. We make a big deal of it precisely BECAUSE of our sensibilities.
. I'm glad my days of foreign travel are over.
* Not that I'd ever be on a ferry from SA to Egypt. I've had my share of trips on various conveyances in foreign lands.
