If we can't stand against barbarians threatening to kill us over cartoons I don't know what it will take... You have it. . .in a nutshell, so to speak. . .'Being civilized'. . .reaches a point of diminishing returns.
I believe 'the good' of our response to these people has maxed. . .'we do'. . .or else. . . they do. . .

Given "mad" mo's tendency to give in to four out of five temptations {sort of like 4 of 5 doctors}, I would title such a flick "The 5,000th temptation of muhammad" or something...
I think I will buy a qur'an and borrow a camera - the liquid and the container, I can provide myself...
Maybe a caricature of muhammad in a tumbler of urine sitting on a sand dune...
Call it "Piss-Mo' Beach"! LOL!!!

It was awfully considerate of them to write their signs in English, so that we could read them.

The fate of Iraq is a totally different issue from that of Islam.
Couldn't disagree more....
At the very least, if the citizens decide to elect those supporting Sharia Law and continued violence against the west (as did the Pali's) we will have no excuse in understanding what we are up against. In addition, no one will be able to excuse the actions of the country stating it is not what the people want.
If a goverment that comes into power is willing to live in peace with the West, as well as, attempt to improve the lives of its' citizenry, than we have taken a large step forward. If this should happen, it will impact surrounding states.
Where you see doom and gloom, I see hope and clarity.
Don't get me wrong, I don't think this will be easy, and in the end (as you stated) it may not even be possible. Yet, I'd rather this play out before we resign ourselves to an all out world war....
We will probably sacrifice another 1000 or so lives finding out the realities of Iraq. Losing 3,500 souls will be well worth it if Iraq becomes a positive force in the ME. If Iraq should fail, the 3,500 lives lost, and the money spent, will pale compared to the carnage to come in its' wake....IMHO....

Wow!! These are some really fun folks.
My question is, however, did they have 'WANTED' posters back in Mohammed's time and is THAT why his image can't be published? Is he afraid someone will recognize him and turn him in?
Thank God that Christianity isn't absurd or oppressive like Islam.
