Kaine seems a little jittery.
Who is the creepy guy with the funny eye brows? This dem is nutz.
Basically, the President wants to lead and lead the entire country. He said it. He meant it. And there is no denying it.
To think I was once critical of his speaking abilities. He has either grown or I have become more astute. In any case, even the delivery of this speech left little to be desired.
As bad as Kaine is, he's still probably a better choice than Reid or Pelosi.
Just got in. I heard a good chunk on the car radio, then just caught about five minutes of the end on TV.
He was great. Wonderful seeing seeing him embrace everyone walking out at the end.
Kaine is an Assclown.
LOL! He looks like a pod-ed Chuck Schumer.
I like the oil addiction point; it could have been even stronger, such as saying "we're gonna break this addiction or it'll break us". But his subtle point him to walk the fine line between supporting the oil industry that basically gave him a base of financial power, and the new energy research that he genuinely would like to support more.
I don't care about being green for the sake of being green. Building back-to-the-future fusion cars out of some pie-in- the-sky-nostalgia doesnt matter to me. But I DO CARE about winning the war on terror, and I DO CARE that this remains Bush's top priority while in office.
I think Mr. President realizes that with the short time in office he has remaining, he can make a difference ensuring our military and civilian economy has the literal power to do this, even when a someone else occupies the Oval Office.
Let the race for new energy begin - to beat Iran at their own game, we'll be stronger if we dont have to depend on the middle east anymore.
(Guess the speech fired me up I was too longwinded here...)
"God bless the United States of America....and can you smell what the Rock is cookin'?"
Use HSA's to save $$$$ on Healthcare.
I liked this State of the Union more than his others, it was combative and self-assured. It was good that he attached "radical Islam" by name. I thought he spent too much time on AIDS (bird flu is a much greater potential threat). Overall, I give it an A-.
Saw shots of The Hildabeaste, Finestein, sKerry, Truban and Dingy. But where were the shots of Chuckie, Pelooser, The Swimmer et al?
I just finished watching FNC's coverage. I know I shouldn't be surprised, but I found the behavior on the 'Rat side of the chamber to be stunning. It loudly conveyed their united positions to: (1) see us defeated in Iraq; (2) grant an inviolate cloak of privacy to terrorists plotting by phone as long as one of them is within our borders; and, (3) burden us with skyrocketing social security costs. There are some great visuals that can be used to good effect in November.
Our president really rose to the occasion today. God love him for that!
Ahh, thank God you're all here-just watched the speech, was filled with pride, then got a big Debbie Downer moment hearing the Fox News analysis-I was like, "Did you guys watch the same speech I did?". I'm glad a lot of you agree with me-great speech, I hope Bush keeps hammering away at the idea that this is a critical point in history-we MUST be on the right side of it. This is what really defines his presidency for me.
