No question the Bush man gets an "F" for immigration reform, but I got to give him an "A" for 2 Supremes, lower taxes and the war on terrorism. We're much better off with him then (God forbid) Gore or Kerry.

Most of are pretty happy as well, but this is a big issue, and should have been dealt with a long time ago. The only way it will get dealt with in a fashion other than amnesty is if we keep up the pressure, so that is what we are doing. We still congratulate the President on his job getting 2 SCOTUS judges through.

agreed but weren't 16 or 17 of the 19 on 9-11 here illegally. Allowing people to stay in this nation illegally killed 3000 American citizens on 9-11.

I think Phyllis' timing is a little off, seeing as today we have a great victory in Samuel Alito to celebrate.
If nothing else, the Bush presidency will be remembered for the Afghani and Iraqi liberations and Roberts and Alito on the Supreme Court.
I'm hopeful for at least one more SCOTUS appointment before 2008 too.

Thanks. I've found it extremely useful in my lifetime to pay attention.

And yes, it's going to take a while to remove the big smile from my face. I plan on it getting bigger this evening. My two most important issues are WOT and SCOTUS and President Bush has not failed me on either. Today is a good day!

If we get hit, he should be removed. No excuse for an unsecured border and 15M ILLEGAL immigrants wandering around the US in a time of war, 4+ years after 9/11. BTTT
IMO, hit or not, he should be removed anyway for actually encouraging illegal immigration and open borders in a time of war. What he's done makes no sense except to the globalists/socialists.

We're much better off with him then (God forbid) Gore or Kerry. I agree. The man's not perfect, but he's doing his best as he sees it. I don't think any president has ever satisfied his constituents on every issue. Let's celebrate what he does right and work to (respectfully) oppose him on what he does wrong.

if we get hit by terrorists who've snuck in through Mexico, ... there won't be another Republican elected to any office for a hundred years.

Phyllis Schlafley is a very smart lady. Anybody who calls President Bush "George W. Bush II" is not a smart anything.

There's no such thing as Big Gov't conservatives, only Big Gov't Republicans.Good point.
Very good point.

I find it interesting that on a day when the President won a big victory for our team, there are so many threads about him selling out his base being posted. And we can all see who's doing the backstabbing.

I don't care if they come illegally in from Canada or by air or by boat, Mexico, outer space. If there are people here illegally, they should be removed. Allowing persons to enter the county illegally breaks the law(s) of this nation. By allowing law breakers to enter, and stay in the county, we see the rule of law deteriorate. Deterioration of the 'rule of law' is not good. It causes 9-11's

The republican base might be hard to define, but it's definitely not the flighty, fractious flibbertigibbets who often claim to be the base. You can't build anything on them. :~D

Howlin, it's not like you to nitpick. Agree with her or not, Phyllis Schlafly IS highly intelligent, and a major-league conservative. Check out her amazing accomplishments sometime--I think you'll be impressed.
