If the law is not enforced now, in a time of war, why would anyone think it would be enforced later? Bush: I know you can't trust me now, but trust me (or the next guy) later.
No thanks.
Why is this not the case now? Do we have to put them on double-secret probation first? Do you honestly believe that this will happen after a guest worker program is put into place?
Grow up.
This is one issue it's hard NOT to agree on. How to fix it is where some of us part ways.
No it won't. The Bushbots will still love him. The Bush haters will still hate him. There will be more clamor about how the country will collapse without a guest worker program to do the cleanup that Americans refuse to due after the terrorist attack (Katrina sound familiar?). We'll all tune in to see American Idol when the terrorist soundbite fades out. And in November we'll all re-elect Republicans despite all this grumbling.
There was no overwhelming victory over Kerry. We got out with our asses!!! You piss off the base of this party and you had better not be looking for support in the next election. This nation is HOT on illegal immigration. It is no longer a West and Southwest issue. It is everywhere. I wouldn't want to bet on a victory after amnesty if I were a Republican looking for office. Pay attention!!!!
It is the truth. If you think Congress acts with YOUR best interests in mind... my gosh...

I'm not now, nor ever been, a one issue voter.
Will Cindy make an appearance? Perhaps she could make her first campaign speech against the dear Dianne Feinstein.
;-)
Sorry, I don't need your kind of two-faced "kindness."
And you've been told a thousand times NOT to keep posting to me and still you do it.
No time to breathe for this president. Just barely gotten Alito in and he's now involved in another major showdown with immigration.
Appoint men like Tancredo and Hayworth to this task and allow them to come up with the best scenarios on fixing immigration. They definately has the fire in their belly to brng a solution.
brilliant (sarcasm off)
I'm not here to argue that kind of strawman; it's just not happening now and we're trying to find a way to rectify it.
Work with us or quit the bellyaching.
Maybe we disagree on this, but I think the best plan currently in the Senate that has any chance of passing is Kyl/Cornyn.
Maybe, just maybe we should get control of the border before we come up with a plan. Then we get Real ID and clean up the mess. The Salvadoran refugee issue just indicated how well guest worker will work. We allowed them temporary refuge after the tradgedies in their country and guess what? Now they don't want to go home!!! Guest worker crap!!!
Don't post to me. Whine to the mod, you little girl.
Speak for yourself, not the base.
Look! Justice Alito watched the vote with POTUS!

Go Steelers........... if they win the Super Bowl perhaps Lynn Swann can win the governorship here in PA over the relatively corrupt Rendell.
No...... don't reply.
Politics ain't bean bag ;-)
Honest criticism and pressure is nothing for President Bush or the Republican Party to be afraid of. They'll handle the criticism as they see fit, and the chips will fall where they do.
sorry about the Chargers, btw.
