"The threat is that India will lose US nuclear assistance if they don't vote against Iran."
---Thats no threat at all. Its a reality already. The Democrat party, State Department and the NPT mafia in the US are filled with India-baiters. (The same ones who came up with the comment that if Iran cannot have nukes how come US is giving it to India.)
Fact is the US is in no position to get the deal approved. It knows that. The US is using the Iranian excuse for what it cant deliver anyway. We already called that bluff the last time we voted against Iran. If we vote against Iran we will merely have a better case to argue but its no guaranty that the deal will be approved.
The best part about the deal is not that we are getting US technology but the fact that it opens the door for other players to go for nuclear deal with India. If the US is able to deliver the technology well and good if not, we lose nothing. It will pave the way for Russia or France to provide the technology.
Most people here dont realise that India voting against Iran is merely a goodwill gesture on part of India. Some people here just want to see us become yet another of America's lackeys like Pakistan.

Pakistan is in so much hot water that even the Chinese have curtailed their shipments of weapons to them. Do you realise how idiotic that comment is?

And the Chinese just sold the Pakis F22 frigates in those hot waters.
"Chinese have curtailed their shipments of weapons..."
Yeah riiiiiight!

" The military government there is the best that can be hoped for at the present time."
That is stupid American media brainwashing.
To: Gengis Khan
You would prefer West Bank-style "free elections?"
Maybe you want Hamas style Islamists to come to power in Pakistan but I don't.
To: AmishDude
"If Delhi doesn't like it, why don't they do something themselves?"
So its like this.......When it comes Iran, you have to join us, you have no choice. When it comes to Pakistan.....why dont you handle them yourselves.
Frankly I have no idea why our government is voting for the US.
To: Tailgunner Joe
Maybe .........I just want US not give weapons to Pakistan. But of course a dhimmi (like you) on Mushie's payroll just cant digest the idea of not arming the Paki jihadis against India.
"Pleeez puhleez puhleez vote for us ......even as we give weapons to Pakistan to kill you guys."
To: Tailgunner Joe
"Maybe you want Hamas style Islamists to come to power in Pakistan but I don't."
Only a matter of time, and regardless of what the US will or can do to prevent it. Your own weapons will come back to haunt you.

Not exactly If iran sticks to its said nuclear agenda ie using it as an alternate source of energy it is not going to be a problem at all but if it is really interested in making nukes then it is going to be a problem for all of us...
To: Gengis Khan
The deal is not going to be approved, and even if it were, it would not stop Iran. Ultimately, I suspect, this will end in nuclear war. With all the stray nukes floating around, one of them is bound to go off eventually and trigger doomsday.

" The military government there is the best that can be hoped for at the present time."
That is stupid American media brainwashing.OK, boss, that's fine. Who would you support to lead Pakistan?
I want a name.
Or Mr. 10% if you support him.
To: AmishDude
"I want a name."
Here you are:
Benazir Bhutto.
Mutaza Bhutto.
Nawaz Sharief
Imran Khan
Anybody who wins the election. And I mean real election and not the sham carried out by Mushie.
To: AmishDude
Who are you supporting? Can you give me a name other than Mushie (out of whom your media created an undeserving hero).
To: Gengis Khan
When it comes Iran, you have to join us, you have no choice. When it comes to Pakistan.....why dont you handle them yourselves. Well, I hope India doesn't tax too much of its national resources casting a vote.
I really don't get the antipathy. Washington isn't acting hostile toward India (unless you're paranoid) and if you want an idea as to how the US views India's nukes, please note that nobody at State went to this extent when India went nuclear.
To: Gengis Khan
It really doesn't matter who wins the election, given the pro-terrorist forces in Pakistan.
I cannot believe that you actually put the wife of "Mr. 10%" at the top of your list. Do you want to guess how he got that little moniker?
Think about it: Given the national sentiments in Pakistan, a weak corrupt government is the worst possible outcome, whether it be covered by the veneer of democracy or not.
To: Gengis Khan
Musharraf is a thug. But he's a rational thug. The other options are usually either corrupt enough to bend over for Islamist factions or are in league with the Islamists themselves.
Nobody portrays Musharraf as a hero. It must be more of that paranoia of yours because the almighty American media doesn't talk about Musharraf. At all. News usually comes from foreign sources or backpages of American ones.
To: AmishDude
I know who is Mr. 10% and I also know how is he got that moniker. Do YOU know the real name of the guy?
Tell me do you believe everything the Pakistani press tells you? Yes of course you do. You even blindly believe your own media. For a change try to read something from the Indian media. The Eshtesaab(accountability) bureau that accused BB's husband with corruption take orders directly from the GHQ. Almost every party leader opposed to Musharraf has been charged with large scale corruption. I am not saying those leaders arnt corrupt but do you think the army GHO and ISI arnt corrupt? The get billions of dollars from the US. You think they don't have their own cut? Just because the Eshtesaab bureau hasn't indicted Mushie, you think he is clean? We have corrupt politicians even in India. We don't use that as an excuse to bring in/call for/ justify dictatorship. You don't think dictators can be corrupt do you? The Paki media made him "Mr. 10%" at the behest of the GHQ. If they dont, they would have had their offices vandalised and the editors put behind bars. "Mr. 10%" and his wife were ok as long as they favoured the GHQ. BB when in power was a rabid anti-Indian even more then the army (talk about being more catholic than the Pope). Trouble started after she was ousted by the GHQ and the next elections were rigged.

Wrong. The US government supports Musharraf and your media joins the party lauding his "achievements", even labeled him "the foremost ally" against terrorism for his sham co-operation on "GWOT" reminiscent of Zia-ul-Haq being labeled "the foremost ally against communism".
To: Gengis Khan
I am not saying those leaders arnt corruptThank you and good night!
To: AmishDude
I asked you do you know the real name of the guy?
