How about sending your candy canes to Tal Afar?

I'll send you the APO.

Cheers!
Patty

How about something for Tal Afar for the moment?

They are still interested in getting big bags of little American brand candy bars, books and magazines and anything else a Marine or soldier would like to see from home.

I'll FReepmail you the APO.

Hooter's calendar (with OVER 350 signatures) made it to Tikrit in about a week. I scored one of my most prized possessions - a t-shirt from the outfit I've been sending cigars & goodies. And which color shirt did they send me? SAND colored dammit! Are you kidding - I'm SO jazzed right now!

I'm guessing that those folks are out on assignment. The calendar will be raffled off when they have the next 'homecoming party'. My next box should include more ceegars. There is no doubt - OUR TROOPS ROCK!

Ooooh!

What a great goodie to get from your adopted unit.

I just got some pin-up pictures (of Tom Welling) on eBay for the gals at Kirkuk.

Fully clothed. I probably should have gone for the shirt-less photos. LOL! Guess I'm too much of a prude...

Cheers!

Fantastic care packages!

And the soup sounds so yummy....

I'm going to ask you to put my brother on your prayer list for the next day or so. He's going in hospital tomorrow to get a stent put in one of his coronary arteries.

So, now my older sister and younger brother have beaten me to the coronary cath lab, but guess I'd better go get one in the next few months. So, I'll be saving my pennies for that procedure over the next couple months and relying on donations to send care packages.

That's fine. But should some dood's really BIG claim-to-fame be something called Smallville?

I just don't see the attraction...

I assume you're a heterosexual male.

I would hope you wouldn't be attracted to a tall, dark, handsome, sexy 28 year old man.

Thought we might have a little fun to distract me from biting my nails while I wait for my brother to undergo triple bypass surgery tomorrow.

Libloather doesn't think the man in the pin-ups I got for the gal soldiers at Kirkuk is attractive. It's Tom Welling, who has starred in Warner Brother's network in Smallville (about Superman as a teenager), currently in Season 5 and generally on Thursdays at 8 with reruns on Saturday at 7. Preempted tonight by basketball.

I also bought the first two seasons of Smallville for the gals at Kirkuk, and am looking for donations for seasons 3 and 4.

Here's the link to one of the pin-ups at eBay

Okay, gals in our Merry Band of Patriots, what is your opinion on whether the gals at Kirkuk will enjoy getting this pic?

Libloather sent out a Hooters calendar, and I've sent a lot of stuff guys will enjoy viewing, so felt a bit of equal time for the gals to promote what they are fighting for....LOL!...was in order. Opinions?

This straight male thinks he's okay - he's got the eyes ladies will likely approve of, but he comes off (at least in that one linked photo) as a bit effeminate.

But if that's what our ladies in uniform want, give 'em a dozen!! :-)

He was a cipher in the first season, but got his new acting legs under him after that and has been gaining depth in his acting. Any meterosexual that might have been in the writing in the first 2 seasons has been obliterated by his acting choices in Seasons 3 and 4.

He's married, BTW, and is almost 29 years old now.

He puts me in mind of Harrison Ford, who was pretty much a diamond in the rough actor for a while till Steven Spielberg and Peter Weir gave him some good roles and direction. Harrison Ford's face matured late, too.

Tom Welling has also been portraying one of the kids in the two Cheaper by the Dozen movies.

A neat trick as he's 6'3"

He's a hottie but I'm way too old for him. LOL.

I hope everything goes well tomorrow for your brother.

Yeah, mum's the word. Also, he's done a lot of weight lifting the last few years to make the body muscles look like Superman's.

He often acts in his stocking feet so he doesn't tower over the other actors too much.
