SOrry, my offer was to CharacterCounts.
Acts 4:32
It is absolutely clear that the surrender of property was purely voluntary.
Acts 4:32 : "32 All the believers were one in heart and mind. No one claimed that any of his possessions was his own, but they shared everything they had.
This is NOT socialism in the normal use of the word today. Jesus said "give to the poor". He did NOT say "take from your neighbor and give that to the poor".
You said in your #186 that Christianity has "strong elements of socialism". Can you cite any "elements" that are "stronger" than this?
That's OK. I saw that you did stand up, so I was just trying to feed you an easy one-liner. Oh well. :)
I totally agree - Roe is dead wrong. It was, is and always will be a states issue at minimum - it was never the SCOTUS's job to "legislate" a "right" that was never addressed in our founding documents, but the right to life, liberty......certainly was.
The liberal courts going back to the 30's, and even before with the ICC, Fedl Res + Income taxes, have empowered this pig of a Govt to be able to grow in cost and ergo the people's power has been usurped way beyond constitutional limits.
In response to the leftists like Moore:
"DUDE!!!! Where's my limited Govt???"
There is a key difference between Christianity and other religions. Christianity requires its adherents to obey authority. It also commands its adherents to treat aliens as they would treat themselves. These are key differences between other religions.
As for imposing religion on you or imposing "brands", (which is troubling because last I checked there is only one Jesus), I never claimed a right to impose such things. I simply asked how you expect a Christian to divorce himself from those morals taught by Jesus when asked to make decisions. Your requirement seems to me a bit impossible.
I realize this post is a week old, but as it received no replies, I wanted you to know that at least one person out there enjoyed your informative and well-written contribution to the thread. And agreed with your analysis, also.
