Lindsay Graham was good when he explained that if senators start defining certain required for confirmation issues they destroy the independance of the judiciary. As a professional woman, Feinstein embarasses me.

They think we are stupid, before 1994, the dems had been running government for 50 years.

You don't think senators should heavily weight how a SCOTUS nominee might vote on issues they care deeply about? Would you as a Senator vote for a nominee you were sure would not cut back the SCOTUS rulings on a near unlimited Consitutional right to abortion, right up to the moment the fetus pops out?

I agree with Feinstein. SCOTUS has become political, and decisions about who gets on must and should be political. Otherwise, there is no check on SCOTUS at all, except maybe against indubitable dummies.
